Title: Sp2 900 shoes
Post by: Matt Fortney on February 17, 2013, 05:10:28 PM
Any of you toe draggers out there who use these shoes have the dexter issue of tearing through soles on the non sliding foot? I was totally ready to order them and then realized they were interchangeable on both feet and got nervous...help!!

Storm will have a 800 series shoe coming out for next season that will be more akin to Dexter's SST6 line where they have added flex bars on the fixed push off sole.

I don't recall anything being said about a solution or issue relating to the 900 series shoes at the recent Sync seminar though.

I had a problem with these shoes since week 2 of owning them.  I tried the powerstep but it eventually tore up so now I am gluing the sole on with shoe goo. Other than that problem they are in my opinion more comfortable than the sst8s and work well.

So they r terrible i had them for 3 league nights before the non slide sole started.to come off  i tried to fix it a few times before i took it to the mall and had a shoe repair place sew the sole on permanently. Then i sold them on craigs list and got the new sst6's. Haven't had any problem with them yet.

Matt I am a toe dragger and am having no trouble with non slide foot. The toe guard is holding up just fine with a few light scuff marks. I was having trouble with SST-8's and the non sliding sole coming up at the very edge of the shoe. So far not even a slight peel back at all on the Storm shoe.

The only problem that I am having is the bolts on the back are starting to come loose and peel back. I am bad at sliding my feet into my shoes with out tieing the laces, so that probably explains that.

All in all, they are more comfortable to me than the SST-8's. People will say your a staffer so you should say that, but staffers are under no obligation to wear the shoes. Storm's shoe came in a wider sole for me which means I could go down a size compared to the Dexter which makes my foot more snug

I just dropped my sst8s because of that. I replaced my push off sole and within a month the toe of it would never stick to the shoe.

Guys, they are basically SST8 but with a little more comfort and added soles. I have a pair of SST8 SE and very happy with them so far.

Something I tried as did some other SST 8 users in my area, was to move the non-slide sole down slightly. I dropped mine about 3/4 of an inch from the edge and it seemed to stay down better afterwards.

I understand the need to have both soles interchangable, but have had nothing but issues with the SST 8. So far so good with Storm's shoe
