Nameless Storm Ball
« on: December 01, 2006, 03:17:15 AM »
So last night during the league, I noticed this dude on the other squad was using this nice new shiny ball...I saw his grips and noticed the "eye of the Storm" logo in the middle of his span being the CG. Then I twisted it around to see which ball it was and there was nothing on it. There wasn't even a pin, it was just that eye of the Storm. So I asked him what it was and he said, "I dunno, it's a nameless ball." Anybody else come across something like this? The ball has very similar colors to a Vertigo, but it was polished to the high heavens. I want to say it was an Agent, but I have no idea how that ball reacts for I have never seen one in action. Just curious if anybody else has come across such a strange bowling ball.

Could have had the pin drilled out.  It's not that hard to lay out a ball such that the pin ends up in one of the two finger holes.

Similar colors to the Vertigo sounds like the Special Agent.  Both are black, blue, and purple, and if he put some polish on the SA, it'd look really shiny.  Since it starts out at 2000-grit Abralon, it'll look shiny even before the polish.

It is probably a "test" ball.  Like what the staff guys get before the ball is put in production.  Some times they get out to the public.  If it doesn't have a serial number on it, it is illegal.  Although it may be even if it has one.

I don't know, when I got the Dark Thunder test ball it had an x on one side and an  o on the other side and it was labeled "not for resale".

Yeah, there was just absolutely nothing on it. I wonder if it had a smell to it

Did it have a serial #? If not, it might have been resurfaced a lot with the cg up on a spinner without turning for the 6 sides!! Just a possible answer
