Quickly becoming a fan of the Storm Hy-Road
« on: April 18, 2009, 12:34:46 PM »
I just want to thank Storm for making an awesome product with the Hy-Road.  This is the first time I've decided to follow the hype and purchase a ball that everyone was raving about.  Now I know why it has gotten the praise it has, it deserves it.

I'm not here to FIGJAM about how awesome I am, because I'm a house hack at best, but I just got this ball Monday, practiced for 20 minutes with it, shot my first 300 with it Thursday night in league.  I missed my target twice to the inside and it held the line making it look like I threw it perfectly.  The 300 was the second game of the set and I moved with the oil a tad late in the 3rd but still ended out with a 224 after throwing 2 through the face and leaving splits.

Overall, I just wanted to show some love for this ball (even if I have only had it for 5 days) because of its' predictability and continuation.  I will write a review down the line, but I need to throw it for quite awhile longer on several different patterns to give it a real honest opinion.

Thank you Storm, I've been trying for this for about 7 years and this ball made it happen for me.  Next on the list is the incredibly hard to get 800 series.  The Hy-Road has my recommendation for anyone wanting a sweet rolling ball for a medium volume THS and I wish everyone else success with this product.

CC it looks something like this...

The balance hole is slightly below the CG and pin below ring finger.  I don't know very much about drilling, I just told my driller that I wanted it as controllable and smooth as possible.  My Hammer Doom is very skid/flip and I didn't want another ball with that type of reaction. Hope this helps.

thats roughly how mine is drilled and cant believe how hard this ball makes the turn, mine can get speed sensitive if i get lazy it comes screaming through the nose, but recovers from almost anywheres it seems, i may be getting another one and going pin under with it maybe something like how yours is drilled

Thanks guys. My HyRoad came in today. Will probably drill it pin under, 5x3.
