Title: Storm Alpha Crux
Post by: jackson93 on December 23, 2018, 12:40:21 AM
Just observed this year on how many storm staffers are still using this ball. What makes it still so good? Seems to be still used a tonne.

The cover and core match up so well together. It's strong enough to handle thicker oils without trying to overpower the lane. Then when you take into account that it has this hook set kinda motion, its something the players at least need as an option.

^^ Agree with this assessment.

Plus due to patent royalty to Mo IIRC that core didn't get used again which is why it hasn't been truly replaced by something newer.

i got a crux formula (crux with GI-17) and i drilled it same as an alpha crux i had (4x4x2) but its not the same kinda motion. the alpha crux was smoother and the formula is strong but very angular (more like the sure lock)
