Paradigm With Carrydown
« on: September 30, 2006, 12:10:27 PM »
I'm having trouble with my Paradigm the 2nd and 3rd games. I shoot really big scores and crush the pocket the whole game then whenever the lanes break down i have alot of trouble. It just skids to far so I  move right and start playing out of my comfort zone up ten. This is definitally not my A game and its making a simple house shot challenging the last 2 games. I dont know if i need to buy a particle pearl ball or maybe someone could suggest a different ball or a strategy to help me combat the 2nd and 3rd games.

AMF House
Synthetic Lanes
36 or 38 foot house shot (Forgot exact length)
Heavy side of medium.

Thanks alot i appreciate it.

I'd be more inclined to think the ball has burned up and is finished hooking rather than it's still skidding due to carrydown.  The cover on the Paradigm is pretty strong.  Moving right on a THS usually takes you into even more dry.  I'd start by moving my feet at least 5 boards left and my target 2-3 boards left as well to keep the ball in the oil for as long as possible.

Burn up vs. skidding isn't always easy to see.  Usually with carrydown, the ball starts to hook, "wiggles" a few feet, then hooks again, but usually too little and too late.  Even if it is carrydown, you still have to move around it to either side.  Another ball thrown in the same place will still have problems.  A stronger piece will help some, but soon you'll be chewing up the head oil and moving left anyway.
