Storm match Up Hybrid vs. Roto Grip Hustle HYB. Which ball will be better on THS, third game league/beat up open bowling conditions? My speed is around 13.5-14 rpm. My Storm Punch Out appears to be too strong for those conditions.

If your Punch Out is too much ball you'd be better looking at the Tropical. Punch Out was a lot of backend for the price and the HYB will be a stronger ball that's earlier while the Match Up Hybrid is probably really similar to your Punch Out

Man I’m disappointed this thread didn’t generate more answers. I’ve been looking for a weaker ball to compliment my no rules pearl and dare devil trick. I kinda came down to these two balls or the ink as well. Wondering what people thought of them in comparison

Hustle ink will be better than the matchup hybrid and HYB..the hyb isn't even polished.
The ball I use for this condition where r2s polished is too strong is the loco solid (polished)...if that's too strong then it would be urethane.

Probably didn't get more answers because the Ink is the best choice and didn't get mentioned. HYB is the strongest ball at the price point and is very smooth, definitely not a burn ball with a lot of angle. Match Up Hybrid, slightly better choice, but it's long and clean, not great from angle though unless you have a ton of hand, it's kind of a hook/set motion and is kind of sensitive to wet/dry unless you take the shine off. The Ink however IS the right answer to virtually any question, and is the right answer to this one. It's a great burn ball right out of the box, just too good for words.

Wish more people knew the advantage to putting control drills on asyms. No erratic jump downlane but you get the hit and drive through the pins from that big core. Of all the weaker reactives I tried, I never found one as controllable and consistent as when I slapped 90 x 2.5 x 45 on some asyms

I have been thinking about going similar, but opposite. Urethane isn't for dry and doesn't really work out for me anyway, so I was thinking about getting a Cherry Vibe and going for a really long pin. Something in the 70X5.5X70 range. Wanting length easy length and a controllable backend reaction that doesn't snap. This is on wood lanes with inconsistent backends and sometimes friend heads and mids to start the night. I have never picked a layout for a ball before. Is my thinking wrong and I should go for something like a code where the cover still isn't snow tires but has a big core?

Storm is severely lacking in the "burn ball" department. The Tropical Storm is about all you are going to get. Or even the Mix. The INK is not a burn ball, in my opinion. Lighter oil, maybe. Fresh heads with lots of back end, yes. True burn, no. The Ride line was good for burn, and the Loco line looked good for burn.

I appreciate it. I’ll probably end up with the ink unless I can find something in japan while I’m still here. I’ll be back in the USA in april

I know right? Tropicals aren't good, shouldn't be a competitive consideration at all. Great entry/kids balls, not for competition bowlers though. Loco Solid was GREAT. Hectic was GREAT. Ride might be the best true dry lane ball I've ever thrown. Ink is great, but you're right not a true burn ball. Heckin pissed over the Hectic.

I bowl a lot of senior events on THS so the lanes last couple games of an 8 game block are torched. Hectic gets lots of use from some surprisingly steep angles and still goes through the pins, as Luke said great ball if you can find one. I’ve also have had success with the Wreckem on the burn but it has more diff so you need weaker lower flaring layouts.
