Title: Storm Premier Line
Post by: fluff33 on July 06, 2015, 12:51:56 PM
Does anyone know if Storm is bringing out a new ball in the Premier Line?

I don't think we will hear about a new asymmetric ball from them until September or October. I wonder if they are going to bring a new cire, use a past core, or continue the Crux line.

I feel it depends on how well the crux line is selling...historically soeaking, lately it's 2 and done..

and if its not 2 and done then the next will be a hybrid

Lol the first was a hybrid, as the crux was "hybrid"

I see on Hi-sp that Storm just released a "gravity flow" and an "optimus 4.0" both of which have an NRG hydrid coverstock. My guess would be that they are testing out this cover for a future global release. They seem to have a recent track record of testing out balls overseas then releasing extremely similar core/cover combos over here. I really wish they would release that Gravity flow over here but we shall see. I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with a new core and started phasing out the Crux line.

Stateside or overseas release...it won't matter, I will still be on the lookout for one.

The Lock will be stateside.  Think about it...new cover...new core...plus the fact that Storm releases their Premier Line stuff in the fall.  I can't wait.

Nope, unless they simultaneously do 2 premier lines..but they usually can a high end line after 2-3 releases

even though its not on the premier line im more excited about the joy ride. ive never matched up well with higher end pieces and its nice to see storm come out with a control ball especially with all the stronger equipment hitting the market.

The Ride is a great control ball. Reactor is still plenty strong enough of a cover to handle your typical house shot.

I know it won't happen but one can dream they'd use the Reactor cover on a stronger core like the Tri-Sphere. Or give the next Optimus R2S hybrid

I'm hoping the Lock will be as good as the Virtual Gravity. Is the Virtual Gravity the most successful ball Storm produced ? Just curious. Thx

Doubt it, they're crazy for not remaking it...

A few online retails have the Lock priced at $169.95. Wonder what price point becomes cost prohibitive for the new high end Storm stuff.

You know what they say...a product is only worth what people are willing to pay :)  As long as people keep scooping up the new Storm releases regardless of price Storm will squeeze every bit they can out of their customers.  Pricing won't change until inventory exceeds demand, and then Storm will have to decide if they want to hold pricing, slightly reduce pricing, or cut production of high-end equipment and realign with actual demand at higher prices.

You can't solely put the blame on Storm for pricing. It will go up all across the boards with every company because the economy continues to be failing everywhere.

Supply and demand, yes. When inventory exceeds demand, prices go down.

But you have to sit and wonder that each bowler wields multiple bowling balls, and that the market may be flooded... then maybe they'll start making bowling balls that only last a few sets? lol

Idk...the problem I have is that each release is certainly not better than the line before, yet the price is increasing.

That VG era was when the cell was originally out...hyroad too...it was all exceptional equipment.  Idk why we can't get 'near perfection' like that again...

Everybody is crazy to think that this lock is better than the VG..the invasion wasn't, vivid wasn't, the sync wasn't,  the zero gravity wasnt, crux wasn't..I'll pay 185 for a VG lol

How much of this is what bowlers want have changed? I'm pretty sure if you rereleased the VG tomorrow as something else everyone would say it didn't hook enough or lacked continuation.

The VG's, Cells, and Hyroad were terrific balls. I'm just saying others have caught up to some extent not that Storms putting out junk. Now the fact that we have to release every ball with a different surface and/or solid/pearl/hybrid and act like we reinvented the wheel that sticks in my crawl.

crux line probably not a good seller.  I like the original crux shine and the pearl crux is a turd. I liked the zero gravity and gravity shift wasn't too bad. Virtual gravity was good shined. As for the rest vivid, byte didn't like

If they re-released the VG I would buy 2; hell I would even buy a VG Nano if that was re-released.

For the record: huge fan of the invasion and vivid, and kinda liked the sync.

I wonder about the lock, visually I feel a re-represenation of the critical theory...I hope its their intent!

Waiting for a video. Cmon storm!
