Storm Ride
« on: September 15, 2016, 09:36:22 PM »
I have become very fond of the Storm Ride. It doesn't force me super left (right handed) like many balls I've tried lately. My question is this, what ball and can be any brand, would give me that step up option? I love how clean it rolls and how smooth it reacts.

I would like to find something that when the oil volume warrants it, I can step up a ball and get a similar reaction. I haven't pin pointed what aspect of the Ride is the root cause, whether it be the diff, rg, coverstock, etc but I like it and want some family members for it!

Anyone tried a surface change to their Ride? Thinking of hitting it with a 3000 pad.

I did that for awhile, but I liked mine better with polish. I wish my Ride didn't crack

How do you think it would compare to the Hustle RIG?

I got my dad a Hustle RIG and I think it's noticeably more ball than the Ride. Definitely a little more angular, I'd probably put it 3-5 boards more than a Ride

The Hustle RIG revs up a lot more and turns the corner harder. Can't say that there is a valid replacement by Storm yet.

I have had the IQ tour solid for a long time and it is a great smooth rolling ball.  However, I am surprised nobody mentions the IQ 30 as another smooth rolling option that would be a step up from the ride.  Everyone I know who has one likes it, and yet you don't see much hype on these boards for it.  Maybe people like me who didn't like the Gold Pearl haven't tried it, but it is definitely not just a remake of the pearl.

If anyone is looking for a 16lb Ride.  I have a single drill will less than 3 games that I will sell for good price.  Did not match up for my intent.
