Title: Storm Rocket -
Post by: NY Mike on August 13, 2015, 11:35:40 AM
Question:  has anyone else found this ball to have an over/under reaction on lanes.
If so what have you done to the cover stock.  Mine is currently in factory finish with a little shine knocked off.

Part II:  for those who possess both Rocket & Sky Rocket, which of these balls gives you a more consistent roll/finish.

thanks,

Yes. Took the shine off with the blue "E" 900 Global pad and Clean N Dull and that did the trick.

Mine is drilled for control, pin-pan 4 1/2, pap to cg is 2 1/2, results:

1. When there is enough oil I get a smooth reaction, but if the lanes are dry, I get an over under reaction, pretty much wet/dry with the range of 2-3 boards of hook spot.

2. Ball goes a little bit deeper on the breakpoint than desired, wont come back, little bit early to the friction, goes brooklyn.

Haven´t mess with the surface yet, just knocked a bit if the shine and play straighter as I can by the 2-4 board and adjust hand as needed.

Hope this helps

best regards

Any ball I get an 'over/under' reaction with usually just needs games on it.  Putting a track in your ball ain't a bad thing

Follow up, away a couple of weeks due to back problem, bowled last night with Rocket after taking shine off with 1000 Abralon pad.  Ball had good reaction for half a game then appeared to be dead on arrival.  Next up maybe to hit it with some polish.  Thoughts, concerns?

What are your targets? playing 10th to 5? or what kind of shape are you looking for the ball?

As I posted before, I was struggling a bit, change my target and it worked
