As long as my house manager and staff don't be jackas*es I can usually go to a big 1-2 punch with a gravity and attitude shift. On those big 8 game tournaments i'll start on the attitude and wear out a line for my gravity. Then the gravity comes into play, once that goes i'll go to my spit fire, and so on until the street rod pearl comes out. It's a simple 4 ball arsenal but it'll be all the balls you need for all lane conditions. It's a little specific, but my house is full of twits so it really doesn't matter.

While I can understand this line of thought I don't think it is valid in today's game.  The ability to react correctly to specific volumes of oil is one factor, but oil pattern, lane surface reaction, oil pattern length, and ball reaction shape all need to be taken into account as well.

If you were just building a league arsenal this is overkill.  If you bowl league plus PBA and/or sport shot tourneys this is about right.  Personally I'd pass on the polished Dimension and look at a Shift instead - but no it's not overkill.

Crowned, I guess there was a little confusion there. I mean't that my manager and staffers only oil the lanes about 1-2 times a week. Their lanes are so beat up, it took a huge chunk out of my spit fire and ruined it. The heads are so bad I can't get a pearlized ball out even if I loft it the first 5-7 feet. I'm shooting my white dot from 7-2 to strike, but my gravity and attitude are way too much when the staffers are lazy.
