HY-Road Pearl surface
« on: December 31, 2016, 01:33:49 PM »
I know that no matter the surface the HY-Road Pearl won't roll like the Hy-Road. My question is what surface on the HRP would put you closest to the HR oob?

My HRP has quite a few games on it, ~150 and it seems to have lost some umph. I don't want to let it go, but another, or buy a HR because I'm cheap. I want to play with surface to get more utility out of it still. Considering where it falls in my bag now, I need it to reliablely corner smoothly on medium patterns.

Summary: what surface helps the HRP blend over/under.

With 150 games on it have you tried deoiling it? Might be worth a try also trying to put back the original surface should help.Info is on Storms website to get it back to 1500 grit polished.1000 grit will help with over/under.It should make it a smoother reaction.

For me, 2000 was enough to blend the wet/dry with a Hy-Road Pearl, but it took a lot of the downlane punch away. I would recommend geting a detox if you haven't already for sure.

A local shop has one of the detox machines I thought about trying. It costs per minute so I wondered how many minutes I should try.

You actually want to get all the oil out of it.Not sure about how the detox works.I think most shops charge around 20$ .If it has alot of oil in it be worth it.I know guys here that balls have died and had that done.Ball was back to hooking again.
