I didn't, but I think it's a nice looking ball motion for Storm. I would put holes in one. If I was to start a Storm arsenal, I think I could get away with a 6 ball arsenal from them. Their whole line looks good. If I didn't dig 900 Global so much, I could see doing something like that. Hope that Storm has a winner on their hands.

While I am interested in the Sync core, I was disappointed to see the NRG cover on this ball. I have heard from so many people that have difficulty getting the VGN and Vivid through the heads, I was hoping to see the ERG or at least a modified version of NRG. As such, I will be waiting for a pearl or hybrid version.

I'll admit that I'm interested.

Got it Saturday, pretty strong and continous. Has to be the core, no quit in this ball.

How does it compare to your Nano?

I'll be getting mine next Monday at a Storm Seminar.  I have one coming tomorrow for a buddy of mine.  It will be interesting to see the results as we have exact opposite styles.  He is a straighter up the track type player, while i'm more of a cranker.

Its about 5/3 stronger, noticably so in the midlane. Keep in mind my Nano has 15+ games tops, so the cover is still fresh. I was on Scorpion, when the track blew up, the Nano was better as it was longer and I could circle the lane more. The Sync was better on the fresh to beat up the track. With that said, ill have a hard time keeping both balls in the bag. Ill probably retire/sell the Nano.

Thanks!  Looks like I can finally retire the Nano after around 200+ games.  Is the motion similar to any past Storm ball that you can think of?

The original VG, make no mistake, the original is STILL better in my estimation. Now obviously, the Sync is newer and stronger. But the VG had the "it" factor. Intially, I dont see it filling the VG shoes, bbut its damn close.

I figured it would a good amount stronger...my nano has way too many games on it to honestly compare the two.  My sync has 20 games on it...I love the motion...it just has more midlane and more oomph off the spot than my nano or vivid..this will be a winner, no doubt.

I should have mine Thursday. Went to a Sync seminar yesterday in Akron and the ball is strong and continuous as advertised. Really interested in this ball, I seem to throw lower RG, higher differential balls really well. I'm going to punch it out the same as my Lucid, and see how much stronger the Sync is. Got to see a few people throw it but they were pre-drilled balls so I don't know how how good a fit the bowlers had or what lane conditions were out.

I didn't order one because I really can't afford it. Plus I don't bowl in a lot of tournaments that sometimes need stronger equipment. Mainly THS. Looks like a great ball and maybe sometime in the next year or so I'll pick up a used one.

I may potentially replace my Defiant with this at some point.  The motion looks really good from what I've seen so far on the reviews.

Tommy,

While I believe the sync would be a great ball to punch up, why not buy another defiant?

For some reason, I can see storm making a polished hybrid with the g2 core as a complimentary ball. The lucid is still selling well and I see no reason for another pearl for now. Also, with the defiant soul being only about a month old, it would be sorta stupid for two dull hybrids be out. I also see this series becoming similar to the theory series. Dull solid, polished hybrid, dull pearl, and maybe something special like etm in a hybrid I dont know.

This ball will work on "THS", with the huge puddles that most centers dump in the middle this ball will take advantage of the hold left and swing right.

Exactly what I bowl on in both houses.  The only difference being one center is wood and the other 12 year old Pro Anvilane.  The synthetic house blends the outside area a little more so that there isn't so much of a bumper.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Sync works out for my game.

As for the comparison to previous Storm balls, I missed out on the original VG due to being out of bowling for a while.  I did pick up the Virtual Energy last year and liked it so much that I just bought one NIB on ebay.  From everything I hear and read it seems like I would have loved the VG.  I just don't understand if the VG was so popular, why didn't Storm keep it in the lineup like the Hyroad...hell I'd buy the VG today if it was available.

Probably because they are two different types of bowling balls. Although both were really great bowliing balls, the virtual gravity was all about oil traction on heavy oil or long patterns. The hy road is a benchmark for all types of styles. Because of the by position on storms line up, it was succeeded by the manor. And now, the sync. Honestly, the
Modern Marvel with an energy storing layout or a marvel Pearl with 4000 abralon and a p4 layout is the closest you ate going to get.

The VG simply couldnt stay around, it would be useless for Joe Bowler on higher volumes today. The Hyroad was always a medium strength ball so its maintained flexibility over the years.

After buying a Vivid which was a dud, i bave been hesitant to buy another storm ball.  Interesting observations about the VG. I think you are wrong about the average bowler having no use for the VG. The ball was a killer on a THS. blended the over under and rolled very predictabe-more than the Hyroad. When it was discontinued we had twice as many bowlers using the VG than the hyroad.

The orignial VG was phenomenal.  The nano and vivid were so-so for me.  Really interested to see what having a solid in my line up again (Sync) will perform tomorrow.

Let us know how you like it.  The Vivid was so-so for me too but I love my Nano.  I'm hoping the Sync is even better.

The original VG was a fluffer's "pot of gold" in my neighborhood! If you were hand-deprived, this was the ball for you. Almost everyone in my Monday league had one when it was out. I even have one and still love it; but I use it on heavy oil, mostly, or a fresh medium-hvy shot. The Vivid is more condition specific, and/or a ball for a down and in stroker, who's looking for continuation through the pins. Though I've seen a few people throw the Nano, I have not been impressed. I did see a young lady throw one convincingly, though.

If the Sync is in the neighborhood of the old VG......Storm will have another "HIT" on their hands, for sure!!!

Got to throw it tonight.  Initially I thought it was going to be like the Nano or Invasion as I had a hard time getting it to face up.  seemed to be rolling out no matter where I played.  However, when I gave it enough rotation to store energy, the Sync was absolutely amazing.  I perhaps went with too aggressive of a layout (50* 4.5" 30) and did a quick scuff of the cover with a 2000.  But, I was still able to use in in all three games of league without having to play 6th arrow...

Picked mine up on Thursday and used it last night in league.  733 OOB.  It is smooth and continuous.  This ball is money!
