Storm Victory Road Pearl Opinions
« on: February 28, 2012, 01:40:11 AM »
So i've ordered a Victory Road Pearl after seeing so many good comments about it.

For those who have one, how do you like it and what conditions do you see??

WOW!  You guys weren't kidding about the Victory Road Pearl.  Effortless thru the heads and really responds to friction in a "quick break" fashion.

232-234-279 for 745 in league last night, and the ball has paid for itself after 3 games.

I'm not a drilling expert so I asked my driller to give my the layout specs.  It is drilled 45x4x40 with a weight hole in the P1 position and is at box finish.  This puts the pin up over the ring finger about 3/4" and the CG (no mattah?) is below the ring about 1" and swung to the right a bit.  Hopefully I can find a way to post a pic.

Ball is sick so far.

Question for drillers out there.   What does the P1 weight hole do to Good Times layout mentioned below?  With the CG so close to the grip line, it doesn't seem like it was put in to make the ball legal but, rather, it sounds like the driller added it for performance reasons.     I am curious because I have a similar layout but no weight hole.

Thanks,

MK

I'd like to hear it explained from a simplistic view....I gather that it weakens the reaction from the link from EFFEN.

The respected members should have a good take.

A true P1 hole will reduce flare on the ball.  Depending on your release it can tame the overall motion or can save a lot of energy for the back part of the lane.

Good Times- since you like your new pearl and iif you need something for more oil, then you will love the solid version. I start off with the solid and then adjust from the read off the solid. I have been out of bowling for 14 years. What a change bowling balls have gone through in that time. You had said earlier if you like the pearl you would think about more storm stuff - do not forget Roto Grip is now made by Storm. Since being back bowling for less than a year, I have drilled 3 Storm and 1 Roto Grip. Good luck - stay with Storm
