Storm Wipe Out Review & Video by Joshua Tajiri
« on: April 29, 2014, 05:57:10 PM »
Introducing the latest solid release in the Hot Line, the Wipe Out. This ball utilizes the turbine core wrapped around the ever popular R2S solid reactive coverstock and comes at 3000 grit abralon out-of-box finish. The Wipe Out at 15lbs comes with a RG of 2.55 and a Diff of 0.038.

After rolling the Wipe Out on a couple of different patterns including USBC Nationals Singles/Doubles & Team event oil patterns, I've seen a very good reaction with it off the fresh. With a 5.25" Pin to Pap and a 5.5" CG to Pap placing the pin above my ring finger, I see excellent length through the front part of the lanes and a continuous smooth motion off the back part of the lanes. This ball is very good when you need a ball to not overbook at the end of a pattern and smoothen out the backends. The Wipe Out is a good compliment and ball down from the IQ Tour.

Based off the performance of the Wipe Out, I will give it an "A." This ball has a good amount of hook for that price point. Based off overall cosmetics of the ball, I give this a "A-." I love the Navy Blue/Green color combo with the spearmint scent. The yellow engraved "Wipe Out" logo stands out very nicely. Watching this ball go down lane, you will definitely know its a Wipe Out!

How does this compare to the Tropical Heat Pearl?  That also had the turbine core I believe.

Not trying to hijack the thread but with someone asking comparisons and mentions the punch out, why would they come out with this ball when the already have the Lights Out?  what's different besides the colors?  both are identical numbers wise.  I can understand them coming out with the Wipe out since I didn't think they came out with a solid of the Lights Out.  Just doesn't make sense to me.

The Lights Out is a hybrid, the Wipe Out is a solid, and the Punch Out is a pearl.

Thanks.  Missed the 'Hybrid' part.  For some reason I was thinking the Lights Out was a Pearl only.

The Wipe-out should be very close to the Tropical Heat solid indigo/violet. The heat solid was an amazing bowling ball. The ball played many different angles extremely well as long as you could find some friction. I felt it was excellent medium oil ball. I cannot wait to try the Wipe-out

I had an orange/purple tropical heat pearl that was a really good ball.  sold it because it was a lot stronger than I thought and I didn't need it in my arsenal.  turbine core gives a strong predictable motion for a great price.

These 2 make a great 1-2 punch for such a low price point! They are 2 great pieces that will make the Hot line perform like some companies upper mid!

The Street Rods possessed the Reactor cover. The Wipe Out and Punch Out have the R2S covers. There is a pretty big difference in cover strength from those Reactor's to the R2S'.

Indeed. Different colors will yield different shapes though. Even EBI stands by that. 2 great pieces nonetheless!
