Storm/Roto Arsenal Help
« on: November 03, 2018, 12:05:45 PM »
I am planning to replace my aging 300+ game Phaze II soon and thought I’d like some opinions on gaps that I’m missing. Current arsenal:

Sure Lock
Phaze II
Son!Q
!Q Tour Solid
OG Hyroad
Spare

The most obvious piece I’m missing is a step down from my Hyroad when the lanes are fried. But I notice that I typically struggle on longer heavier patterns such as London. My thinking is that I’m may be missing a faster response piece as well.

You could go Hustle POW as a light oil option, or Winner if you need a step up from that.

What does the Sure Lock do on those longer heavier patterns for you?

Below a Hyroad is kind of a rough spot to fill with what’s currently out. Hyroad Pearl, Winner, & Hustle POW are options.

Phaze II replacement either another one because it’s so good, or I’m liking the look of the PhysiX for that spot.

If not the PhysiX, then maybe Hyper Cell Fused and a Winner Solid. Gives you a strong solid and a fast response high end ball to try on longer heavier stuff.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

I like the Hyroad Nano for the Phase 11.

Yeah I normally start with my Sure Lock on the longer patterns, but as the games progress and I migrate deeper in, I find the Sure Lock to not be able to respond quick enough to successfully make it back into the pocket with good enough carry. I’d have to really hammer it at the bottom of my release, which then has other negative side effects such as fatigue and loss of accuracy.

Hey there,

Looking for some ideas on equipment replacements. My show-off is losing that punch it once had. I was just wondering if the physix would be a good replacement for that. Also was thinking about the RG winner for a step down to the Fuzed. what are peoples ideas of that.

I loved the FUZED and still do.. 300 first game OOB last winter season...

Im more of a stroker player.. low/med revs.. 14-14.5 mph on speed

For Phase 2, replace it with an Idol.

The Hyroad Nano is too high RG and it tumbles too much for me. Honestly, I don't care for the Hyroad series at all...... but that's me.

Under the Hyroad, the Hustle INK is a no brainer.  You could also go iQ Tour and polish it up.

Replacing your Phaze 2 with anything besides another Phaze 2 is going to be disappointing for you. Not that you won’t like the ball, but it won’t replace the Phaze 2.

I might be the only guy on this site that feels this way, but I feel the Phaze II rolls different fron how it was last year. The new ones continue way less and seem to tumble more in general. Not a bad ball as they are everywhere. But I feel the OP would be disappointed in the new Phaze IIs unless he found them to be lazy before.
