Super Charge and Flash Point
« on: August 23, 2004, 11:56:25 AM »
Finally got a chance to use both of these new pieces today. First, I was really surprised at how much overall hook the Super has. I was bowling on AMF synthetics with a typical house blend (about 40ft). The super reved up nice and made a strong move to the pocket. It wasn't angular, but more of a hard arcing type move.  More than I bargained for. I'm hoping for some longer patterns to test it on.

Next, moved to the Flashpoint. Nice looking ball, not very flippy either (Even for a pearl) Like the SC it makes a pronounced move to the pocket. Again, not a very angular move, still in that hard arcing category. Reminds me of the original Eraser. After a few games the carrydown really hurt the performance of the FP. It seems to be better on fresh back ends. It is a pearl resin.

Both balls seem to carry nicely, once in the pocket. The SC seemed to get more messengers flying. In all, I'm extermely pleased with these two balls. They really compliment each other well. Still hard to believe they are not in the high performance category?! The SC is a hook monster with any back ends. I'd be surprised if I ever need that much hook in a ball.

I just may hit the Super Charge with a little polish so it won't sit in the bag all season. We'll see....
