Most skid/snap symmetric pearl ball out today?
« on: June 15, 2016, 01:25:14 PM »
Looking to add a true skid/snap symmetric pearl ball. Does not matter what brand. I currently have too big of a gap between my Hyroad and my Ride. I currently throw all Storm but would consider switching. Looking at the Jackpot by Radical.  It looks the the real deal. I have a Lock OOB pin up   IQ Tour Nano 2000 pin up   IQ Tour 3000 pin up   Hyroad OOB  Ride OOB pin down . I believe I am missing a pearl to complete my lineup. Trying to sell my Lock.  Just no success with ball no matter what I do to the surface. Just a dud for me I guess. I can cover heavy oil with my IQ Nano most of the times. Looking for suggestions on a true skid /snap pearl ball that is symmetric. I had a Hyroad pearl that would skid too far if ball hit any oil. Also had a Respect pearl that was just to over under. Thanks for your suggestions. If anybody has thrown the Jackpot feel free to chime in.

Optimus Pearl is a monster IMO for a symettric pearl.

Hands down its the Hy-Road Pearl for me. It's the only storm ball I have, and by far it is the most skid/snap I've ever bought. I've tried to by other pieces that promise this reaction, but the HRP delivers.

I have mine drilled 5" pin to PAP, well over the ring finger. I also changed my surface to 3000. To me, most pearls are touchy when they get in the oil. I would maybe change your surface and give it another try.

Radical is having a couple new pearl releases, but the jackpot does look good.

The Respect pearl is one of the snappiest balls I've seen too I would suggest taking the polish off and trying at 4k or 3k and if that doesn't work try 500 with some rubbing compound such as Royal Compound from Brunswick.

If you really want to start over with something new an have over under issues maybe the Ridiculous from Radical would also be considered.

Have you considered a Match Pearl?  The problem is if you get a ball that is too skid/snap; that is when you run in to over/under problems.  Two options.  1.  You take a ball like a Match Pearl and if it is too snappy; alter the surface just enough to make it a touch smoother to blend in the over/under.  OR.........You stay away from a pearl and drill another hybrid or polished solid that fits between the Hyroad and Ride.  But my first instinct says Match Pearl.

Sky rocket hands down, picks up a touch earlier than your Hyroad, while having more overall hook than your Ride.

P.S not the most skid snap out there, but perfect fit between the 2.

Hy-road Pearl is great but I see you tried that. Other thoughts would be a Sky-Rocket or Optimus Pearl with high grit plus polish. I wonder how the Hy-Wire with say 4000 and polish would work too for you. Maybe get your hands on an Ebonite Gamebreaker 2 Gold.

I would think most any medium-medium heavy oil Pearl with 3000-4000 plus polish could fill the void.

The Ridiculous Pearl coming out will probably be a contender for that title. The Paranoia from Motiv is a skid/snap monster from the ones I've seen. If I needed one (Unhinged fills that role for me) those are the two I would consider. The Hy-Wire is up there too.

I'd use a light 2 or 3k pad on the Respect Pearl to reduce the over and under. Plenty of good suggestions above so no need for me to give my two cents.

Or maybe go 500 1500 Polish with hyroad pearl that way it will have some teeth and not skid to much when it sees oil or carry down
