We have a match play tournament once a month at my house during the fall season.  No qualifying, just draw lanes.  First round is two game total, all other rounds are single game.  Double Elimination.  Shot 736 for the series and was out.  The guy that beat me in the second round only shot around 370 for his first two games, goes to the losers bracket and puts up 279 against me.

shot 833 this year in my mixed league and we only won two points out of the four.  My team didn't help too much

I didn't take it that anyone was complaining or whining.  Just some interesting stories of what can happen sometimes.  I am sure we have all lost handicap matches in league to someone throwing a house ball straight up the middle arrow.  I agree that if you get frustrated it is all down hill.  One night this past fall in the finals of our bracket the guy I was bowling against was about 6 frames ahead of our pair and shot 300.  I stayed focused and we ended up splitting the pot.  Hard earned $7.50!

I'm not saying you are a complainer or whiner but here's my outlook on things:

Personally, I hate complainers and whiners, there's too many of them in the game, and I don't like to bowl with them or around them.  Complainers and whiners don't understand what the game of bowling is all about.  I also hate the people who complain about the other team getting strikes on bad shots...Hey, it's part of the game.

Doug Kent once said something along the lines of: "Good bowlers accept losing as part of the game, They understand that they are going to lose a lot more they win but it's those who can keep it together mentally that will have the best chance to succeed"

Just last Tuesday my Trio Team shot 758 the first game and 739 then second game and we lost all five points for the first set.  I shot 279/248 and the guy on the other team shot 279/268 for the set.. Those are the breaks - that's bowling, there's nothing you can do about that. The key is to keep it together mentally, don't give up, stay confident and keep making good shots and good things will happen. Let it get into your head and surely you will not have the best chance to succeed.

 Good Luck
