I have a used T-Road Solid waiting to be drilled and I need some advice on what layout/surface I should get. I would say I am a medium speed tweener who usually plays a medium out and in shot or down and in though I can and have played deeper when conditions/equipment allows.
I am currently using a polished Rapid Fire and a Track Xception (both used) and I also have a OOB pin down cell but have not encountered enough oil so far in order to be able to use it without it seemingly burning up.
What I would like is for the T-Road to still be able to handle some oil but have a bit more length than the Cell. Also I would like to have it drilled so that if I don't like what I see with my Cell and/or the T-Road I can Polish the Cell/Sand the T-Road so that my 123 would be T-Road/Cell/Rapid Fire instead of Cell/T-Road/Rapid Fire.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I would have got away with it if it was not for those pesky kids (Behind my lane) and those blasted 10 pins.

I have a cell pin up and a t-road solid pin down. Both are OOB and the trs rolls earlier but seems to retain the energy better than the cell. I just changed the surface on my t-road solid to 2k tonight. Next time I bowl I'll report back and see what the differences are.

Thanks, I would appreciate that.

I tried it for four games today and it seemed that the surface change made the TRS roll better. I used my cell as well and I like the look of the TRS better, at least on the 39 feet med oil THS. I hope to find a longer or flatter pattern to try it out on in the next couple of days.

Well if you do manage to find a flatter/longer pattern, do let me know how you get on.

Sorry for the late reply. I changed the surface again to 1k with polish on the TRS and Cell. Both work great on short or long patterns. The TRS is smoother than the Cell. I used it on two different houses with good results.
One caveat is that my rev rate is fairly high and I play on the smooth side of the lanes - the left side.

i had my troad drilled rico and it was smooth and forgiving, with very good carry.
