Title: Test Ball
Post by: abcarr on March 01, 2014, 11:40:52 AM
Currently on Ebay there is someone selling a Storm Test ball.  Etched into the ball is "Test Ball", "Sample", "Not for Sale".  So I'm assuming that since it doesn't have a USBC #, it can't be used in competition (league, tournament, etc.) and is it strictly for recreational use and as a conversation piece.  Correct??  Just curious......

Thanks,
Aaron

If it doesn't have the usbc number and is made in the past few years then not legal.

Check the USBC approved ball list.

I know the Ebay listing you are talking about.  The only info on the ball is "TEST," an older Storm "S" logo, and not for sale.  I asked the seller if they knew what coverstock and core were used and they didn't know.

I thought about bidding on it without the info, but when I went back to bid they had closed the auction early and opened a new one at twice the starting price and a Buy-It-Now. No way I am bidding on it now, especially with conflicting weights listed, 16lbs in the title and 15lbs in the description.
