Use your own judgement but after a switch to the Versa -Max and then to the HY-road, our team went from 15th place to 2nd place. And I was the most improved bowler (50$) in the league. I had my best year ever after a 6 year layoff. My average was up 16 pins, and no sandbagging....I try my best every throw. The Hy-road is such a great ball.....last week 12 in a row...290. Thanks Storm, you are my company.

Congrats on the nice jump with the team. The Hy-Road is a great ball and I love it. It just flat out works on a wide variety of patterns. It was a great ball for me this season also. That along with the Frantic provided a great 1-2 punch.

Thanks tommy,
What would you use if you wanted a step down. I'm considering another hy-road, perhaps drilled a little different. You're right, it is a very consistent and forgiving ball....

Lights Out would be a step down.

Since you like the Hy-Road, the Frantic is a great step down. Same cover as the Hy-Road but uses the N.O.S. Core. The Frantic goes a bit longer down the lane but will have more backend. Carry is great, and it is also really versatile for shorter or ligher volume patterns.
I drilled up my Frantic about halfway through the season, using a similar layout to my Hy-Road. It was a great 1-2 combo and that ball is always in the bag league nights.
Another option that's similar is the Wrecker. Great cover/core combo and several in my league were really successful with it this year also.
