Rico-drilled Hy-Road?

Has anybody tried a rico drill on a Hy-Road?  It seems like a very versatile ball, and rico is a very versatile drill.  

I had the opportunity to compare a Hy-Road to my T-Road Pearl today on both drier lanes and fresh THS.  With very similar layouts, I was surprised at the difference.  Both balls roll very nice through the midlane, with a nice predictable arc, but the Hy-Road's snap at the very last minute was a surprise.  I was standing a good eight boards left of where I was with the T-Road Pearl but aiming for the same breakpoint.  The entry angle was very strong on the Hy-Road, and I am nowhere close to a cranker.

I also compared the Hy-Road to my Columbia 300 Rival, which at 4000 abralon is a great benchmark ball.  Again, the Hy-Road was stronger on both lane conditions and I was a good six boards left.  

Seems like the Hy-Road would lend itself to a rico drill, but none of the reviews had that.  Just curious...

I as well have my Hy-road with the rico layout.  The ball is still very clean through the heads, med roll through the midlane and nice arc through the pin-deck.  This will make the ball weak though.  I had to add some surface to the HR to get the rxn i was looking for.  It's great when the lanes are dry-er or when the pattern is unpredictable.

Your axis point will make a difference in how strong or weak the Rico layout is, since the pin to PAP distance changes if you have a PAP that's 4 inches across, or 5+ inches across from grip center.  This changes when and how the ball flares.

I just can't imagine how great a drill this ball is.....unless there is lots of oil in the heads and midlane with the pin so low.

Never tried one but please advise...

I have a pin in palm T-Road Pearl, and it's one of my favorite short/light oil balls, and for lanes with a lot of wear and tear.  Clears the heads anywhere, but needs friction to make a move.  My axis is 4.5 over, 3/8 up.  With some surface it can handle more oil, and pretty well too.

Did it calm the ball down drilling it Rico..

Mine is very angular and turns real hard

Why do people keep trying to compare Lane #1 to other equipment.....when there really is no comparison

Best Prices in all of Colorado on Lane #1 equipment....

Would like to hear from tomgriffin on this.  I bough the Hy-Road because I needed something angular that could handle most lane conditions.  But I am impressed with the ball enough (and the surface changes the cover takes) to think a Rico drill would be good too.
