Dear Team Storm:
After moving up to 15lbs, I am looking for a good ball for a fresh shot to use when there is some oil on the lanes. I do not need a ball for floods but something that is good for a nice fresh shot and as it changes for a couple games. I think I am going to use a label-drilled Tropical again for light oil because I like how that worked for me before. I think something like this will really work for me on game three of my league play and for open bowling conditions.
Here's my confusion... I am looking at possibly doing a polished Dark Thunder again or Thunderstruck solid for my next ball up but I am also looking at the Agent. They both have the nice arc that I like but one is pearl reactive. I have yet to use a mid or upper level pearl and I am wondering how they work on oil. Would it be better to just go with what I had before (Tropical and Dark Thunder/Thunderstruck) or would an Agent also work? I have seen people use the Agent and it seems like it could also be the type of ball I am looking for.
For my financial situation and general use, I am not looking to build a super arsenal here, just a couple balls that I can use on the stuff that I bowl on right now and I will use adjustments to fill in the gaps.
For reference, here is what I had before:
Tropical Storm - Label drilling
Dark Thunder (polished) - High flare drilling (maybe I went a bit too nuts on the drilling here but it still ruled when I encountered some oil)

depends on what you are bowling on and where on the lane u want to play. i have a great friend who runs a shop and he say that the jolts are gonna be big. he has drilled several already and says that 1) he tinks they are stronger than advertised on a house shot, and 2) they are really smooth rolling, not hockey stick type reactions like other storm balls in the past. thunderstruck solid might b a good choice, i just haven't seen anyone throw one yet to form an opinion. on a side note, i have a diablo that i can't get outta my hands! i think this ball flew under the radar. i took mine to 2000 with polish, and man it hits like a mack truck doin 90mph! might wanna look at the diablo.

Well see if I was going to get a Diablo, I would just get the Dark Thunder or Thunderstruck again. I know those will work great for me. The question is more of what kind of differences can I expect from an Agent?
Does it need a lot of oil? It seems like it could be a better choice but I am not sure. The Storm website has them listed for use in the same type of oil conditions.

So then what would the Agent be for then? I know a lot of people love this ball.

The Agent is great for a fresh shot. That ball will read dry and turn hard at the break. After a couple of games, u gotta put it away coz it doesnt like carry down or transition. On a fresh shot, that ball is great.

Hmm... Good point.
Maybe I should go with "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and just get another Dark Thunder or try a Thunderstruck.

Well I have both of these balls, in fact I have had the Agent since it first came out. They are both close to the same for me, but with the Agent handling heavier oil much more than the TS. I have been throwing the Agent more lately, and I have just come to realize that it destroys most house shots. It doesn't really snap for me and is more of a smooth angle (I got the FU for the snap), but when it hits any dry, it does do a snapping move and just crushes. I throw my TS when I need to get a ball through the heads, or the insides and too burnt up for any of my other balls. Usually the TS gets right through it all. Overall I have really grown to love the Agent in just the last month, since I have been throwing it so much more, where I have loved my TS from the start. I just have to find the right conditions to where I can throw the TS. I have been meaning to put some reviews on both of these balls lately, but I have not had the time. Hopefully soon, so watch out! Haha... Anyways, both are winners.

Hmm... Looks like it is going to be a tough call. I'll see which one the pro shop talks me into.

I got a nice little follow up to my original post on these two masterpieces. Well second game tonight in one of my scratch leagues, I shot a 300 throwing the Agent on the left lane, and the TS Solid on the right lane. Right lane was a lot more tighter than the left, so I moved right with my TS in the first frame of that game and never stopped striking for that game obviously. Two great balls!

So the moral of the story is GET BOTH. Ok, I can't argue with getting more Storm balls. However, I think I will get the Thunderstruck Solid first and then try an Agent.
