Trend 2 Ball Review
« on: October 19, 2021, 03:36:08 PM »
Drilling is 55 x 4 3/8 x 45
Rev Rate 450
Speed 17mph
PAP 4 1/2 x 3/4 up

The Trend 2 is a new unique ball from the Storm Signature line.  I have found the Trend 2 to be different from the original Trend due to its strong continuation and overall usability.  I have tried the ball on both a longer typical house shot and a shorter sport pattern to judge the ball reaction.  On the typical house shot, I found that this ball still reads in the oil extremely well due to the Hybrid NRG coverstock and since the differential is lower at 0.041 (15lbs) it tends to blend the drier parts of the lane better than the original Trend did for me.  I was able to use the Trend 2 both on the fresh and as transition occurred as I moved further left on the lane.  If you tend to be on lane surfaces that hook a lot or on lower volumes of oil, this could be a really nice 1st ball out of the bag for you.  Vise versa and this could be a great game 2 or game 3 ball for you depending on your style.  On the sport pattern, the ball acted very similarly even though I was on a few more ML of overall oil.  Since the pattern was shorter, it was a tough ball to use on the fresh since the ball is shiny.  As transition occurred and I had to open my angles up more, this ball really came alive.  It gave me plenty of continuation without being too angular in the backend and went through the pins extremely well from a few different angles.  This is the type of ball that will be a staple in my bag for many different tournaments and league sessions due its overall great versatility.

Drilling 5*3*1
Rev Rate – 430
Speed 18 MPH
PAP – 4 5/8 * 1 1/8 up

I was excited to see the Trend 2, with its great, eye popping colors, to the redesign of the weight block, I immediately thought this could be a home run.  Once I put holes in it, I couldn’t have been happier.
I compared the Trend 2 to the Trend and the initial results were wow, the Trend 2 is so much stronger in the mid lane while still matching the back end motion from the original Trend.  I used this on the 45’ dick weber pattern and the ball, while not necessarily being the first ball out of the bag, still handled the shape and volume well.  Second pattern was on a house shot.  This is where I made my video (search Sean Daniels on you tube) and was able to play almost anywhere I wanted.  Straight, track, 4th arrow, lofting, I had a hard time getting this ball  not to read and roll the right way.
Storm and Jason have collaborated to make what I feel is a must have piece for all bowlers.
