Need Advice
« on: May 14, 2007, 04:18:42 AM »
I am looking for a ball that will work well on a dry condition that hooks less than my Power Charge Pearl.  I was thinking the Jolt Pearl, but am unsure of the new products and how they perform.  Thanks in advance.

From current balls, Jolt Pearl or Tropical Storm should do. Jolt will be rollier, smoother. The Tropicals are pretty flippy, the Reactor coverstock (also used on high end balls like the Domination!) is quite aggressive. But the high RG gives good length, as long as there is a little oil left out there. Both not real dry balls, but just as weak as it can go in the current arsenal.

The Hot Rod SS's are IMHO already pretty strong balls, but also an option, but might already be too much, espcially when you have some hand?

Another older ball to consider is the Hot Rod Hybrid - smooth and controllable, was THE choice for lighter conditions in the Storm line-up 2 years ago.

I love my SS Pearl drilled label leverage. For me, it hooks too strongly on light oil.
I don't have a jolt but would think the Jolt series is similar to the Hot Rod series. They're all in the Hot Line. I would suggest something weaker.

Tropical drilled pin above, close to 5-5 1/2 pin/pap, cg dead center grip. Drilled one for a customer last month for dry and he loves the reaction he gets from it.
