What storm to drill....???
« on: October 31, 2009, 06:33:02 PM »
Just picked up a job at a shop that likes to push Storm equipment.  I've only owned 1 Storm piece in the last few years.......the Storm T-Road Solid.  My opinion of that ball was very high.

I've seen ALOT of Virtual Gravitys in the area and they all look good.  I drilled two Naturals this week and it seems much stronger than I expected.

So, what should I drill to get a taste of the best Storm has to offer??

Both posts are spot on. All companies are putting out good stuff right now.

I'm thinking Hyroad or Virtual Gravity.

The hybrid cover on the Hyroad makes me wonder if it would help blend the wet/dry shots I've been seeing lately.  I don't really NEED a OIL ball but the I feel like if I don't punch a VG, I'll always regret it.

Go get one of the overseas Dominations. This is Storms strongest block ever and they are putting it inside all of their newer covers. I have 3 of them one with r2x pearl and 2 with r2s pearl. Sweet looking peices. I have a hard time using any of my other stuff... keep ending up in my Tour Domination. Plud I keep finding them real cheap on ebay and bb.com

^^^^ Yeah....no..

Agroves,

I would consult with your partner(s) at your shop and find out which pieces selling best and which aren't. Drill each of those to familiarize yourself with them on a personal level so you can better promote each product. Throwing the more popular piece gives you and that ball more credibility with it's fans. Throwing the least popular gives your customers a chance to see it in action and gain some confidence of what would be a "great ball but no one else throws it"

Example, I roll the Virtual Gravity and Energy every week in league and during tournaments. Won a couple of sweepers with them and got a lot of hits in the shop for them. Same results with the Fast and Furious. However, after not throwing my the Fast and Furious for a few weeks, I saw an overall loss in interest. Just as an experiment for the last two weeks, I've gone back and started throwing them again, and wouldn't you know it, I sold them again.

Your bowlers are going to look to you and sometimes your bag for ideas. And as you know, it's your job to point them in the right direction when you get them through your door. Punch up one of the high end pieces which you say the VG is popular around there and familiarize yourself with it, and ask your boss about punching up one of your lowest selling balls so you can better promote it or at least figure out why it's not moving so well in your area.

ummmm......he asked for the best Storm has to offer. Not what id most popular or what ball would promote the most  sales. Pay attention to the o.p. before  you resppnd. R A D block was/is the strongest ever produced by Storm and the only reason they backed away and went to the shapelock's was because of the cost~of   production. Just discussed this a few weeks back with a regional rep.                                                                                           So I will repeat.....the Tour Xtacy Domination is the best I have seen from them.
