Vivid, Lucid, IQ and IQ Tour comparisons
« on: October 30, 2012, 08:08:52 PM »
I'm building an all Storm arsenal from scratch for league and tournaments.. I have some questions about a few balls that hopefully some of you Storm guys can help me out with...

How does the IQ and Vivid compare with each other?

How does the Lucid and IQ Tour compare with each other?

I threw all four at the demo day we had here but I didn't get a good read or comparison because I only threw a few shots each..

I don't have all of them but i have the Iq Tour and Lucid...

Iq Tour is my benchmark ball, drilled pin under middle (i'm a lower tracker) with a low hole.  Pretty smooth reaction throughout the entire lane and covers a wide spectrum of conditions.

Lucid is my strongest piece, drilled pin over bridge no hole.  This ball is too much for me on a house shot (haven't thrown it on anything tough yet)  It's very very angular out of the box.  I did hit it with an abralon pad to try to smooth it out some and that worked but it's still far too aggresive on a THS.  I will say that it continues great thru the pindeck and seemingly recovers from anywhere.

Im punching up a lucid next tuesday, i already have a vivid...and im not sure if i want either iq..having bought 3 centripetal cored balls already...

My vivid is drilled pin down/hole down and allows me to play up the boards instead of my normal "deeper than everyone else line"... The ball imo is a better display of the nrg cover than the vgnano solid just because its smoother.  My only complaint is that im lucky to get one full game out of the ball.

tournent bowlers are digging the tour from what im hearing...

Id go with a tour and a crossroad to start.  Then add your heavy oil ball, and then something weaker than the crossroad.
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

If you want people to give you input, try not being a condescending jerkoff, it will help. I cant speak for the other balls, but i do like the vivid, has nice carry compared to my last heavy oil ball. Only problem is i dont run into enough oil to use the ball often. If you dont have a lot of hand, or shoot on heavy oil frequently, youd like it
Heavy Oil- Vivid, Prodigy

Med/Heavy Oil- Victory Road Solid, Victory Road Pearl, Furious, Fast

Medium Oil- Anarchy, Hyroad

Dry-Natural, Headhunter, U2

15&10lb Spare Balls

Well, to answer the OP.... the Vivid will be stronger up front and more overall than the all the balls because of asymmetry and solid cover. The Lucid is stronger up front than the tour and more on the back. Basically, Vivid, Lucid, IQ, IQ tour. But by reading all the stat sheets, you'd be able to determine what will work best for you.
