Alright guys steer me in the right direction. I have never thrown a storm ball and itching to try one. I don't want any overlap with arsenal. I average around 16-17 mph at the pins, almost rev matched but slightly speed dominate, medium track. prefer to play straight but can open it up if conditions allow. Mostly bowl ths and few tournaments. Seems like my arsenal lacks strength for the backends. Eyeballing the iqtp and sync, but not very knowledgeable in storm. So storm gurus what ya think? Current arsenal:
Train 1500grit basic pin under bridge
Ransom Demand 2000grit w/ polish pin under ring with hole right of mid grip
Double Clutch Pearl 1500grit w/ polish basic pin above bridge
White Dot

I have a team mate with about the same stats and he just bought the new Sync, and he gets a better drive to the pocket with it, then even his nano.

I have heard that the sync seems to be really smooth off the spot. I want something pretty strong off the spot that handles long patterns as well as carry down. Everything I have is smooth. Lucid looks nice as well.

I've been throwing DV8 and I no u say u want a storm but dv8 balls to me and my fellow league bowlers seem to be some of the hardest breaking balls off the spot. If u truly want just a storm this isn't helpful but keep ur options open, not just saying to dv8 but to all brands and balls.

The Sync can be hard off the spot if that is what you want. It seems to be the option that would not overlap over your current equipment.

You definitely want to try something out of the thunder line. The Hyroad for me is really hard off the spot. The hyroad is the first storm ball i've had in about 8 years. I was hesitent to go with the hyroad because i never matched up well with Storm equipment. I trused my good friend and ball driller and he did not let me down. He told me the hyroad would be outta control and thats exactly what i was looking for, something to open the lanes up with and it did not dissapoint!

Your first Storm Ball - I would say that you cannot go wrong if you go with the IQ Tour Solid!! It is an awesome control ball!! This ball is a winner!!!
-
The Crossroad is an awesome piece, good length and a strong backend motion. A house shot killer.
-
Get a hybrid! You wont be disappointed. ..a crossroad or hy-road will fit in nicely and not kill your wallet! Besides thats the one that will makr u a believer! Youll be hooked!
-
I would totally drill up a Sync. Looks super mean.

+1 with bulldozer.
The hy-road has been one of storm's most successful balls for 4 years. The lucid is a great ball but might start too early unless you polish it. I also have to say I'm seeing more of that Crossroad on the PBA tour. I'd say grab one of those aforementioned.

You want something hard off the pattern? Get the IQ Tour Pearl and leave it in the OOB polish and surface! That ball is an awesome ball but extremely angular at the end of the pattern on a THS so much that I had to use a used 4000 abralon pad to rough up the surface a touch to smooth out that extreme back end.
Otherwise, go with the Hy-Road or Sync.

This guy also said that he was slightly speed dominant and that he wanted it for longer/heavier. If that's truly the case, I would go with the Lucid. It will give you the grip on the lane you're looking for while still saving plenty for the backend.

Thanks for the replies. Seem torn between the lucid and iqtp. I have a strong rolly hybrid and a rolly solid and a medium weak pearl, so I think a strong pearl would fit nicely!
