well the title speaks for itself. let me know what you all think about the lucid. what layouts did you go with and would you recommend this ball to someone else.

Ball is a beast....but has to have a little bit if volume.

I mean that should go without saying....you don't pull out strong asymmetrical balls late in blocks unless you have tilt like Fagan or Rash.

I've bowled 12 games in league....average a little north of 250...thrown a 299 and 300 in that stretch.  Mind you I bowl 3 games a week and never practice anymore....if it can make me look good...it's a good piece.

I had same issue with my Deep Purple Taboo.  It hit like a pillow and rolled way too early until I found oil.  With oil upfront it's a beast. I would imagine the Lucid will be similar

Saw the local driller use one on our Beaten Path pattern. He killed in game one and died in games 2 and 3. Seems like you better have either plenty of oil or plenty of ball speed to use one. I used a 300T for all 3 games on the same pair he used his Lucid.

The Lucid hit as if the ball weighed 18 lbs, WHEN it worked. When it didn't, he didn't come close to the pocket.

I strongly suspect you're not using it on enough oil. See my reply just above this one.

Yet there are some guys who want a hybrid cover on a ball like that? Lol! Had to poke fun at that. Mine is sitting in the shop collecting dust because i have no reason or oil to drill and throw it. From what ive seen from the 3 bowlers I've watched throw it, the ball revs quickly in the front like the Critical but is a few boards stronger on the back. I have a Critical I'm punching up later this week for a sport pattern tourney later in the month, eventually I'll get to compare but as for now, one strong pearl asym is more than enough in my bag.

We have a higher volume of oil in our house.  The people using it have great carry.  I haven't bought one, because I am not in the market for a strong ball now. If you have a lower volume of oil, you may need to use a higher grit sand paper or a little polish.  It may be losing energy if there is not enough oil.

Since it's already at 4000 grit, you can't sand it any finer, UNLESS
that 4000 is really a 500/4000 surface, then you can go 500/1000/2000/4000 and
you'll get a tiny bit more length. Polish or a 1.5" pin to PAP with a large VAL angle and DRILL angle is probably what's necessary.

In reality, if yo n eed to do all that, you need a more appropriate ball.

I think the 4000 on this ball is like the 4000 on the nano. Its more like 500 I use hookit on it after every set and after 15 games it still looked really dull. Took it to a true 3000 and it came  to life down lane. And it looked much more shiny at that surface....

You are correct.  I had the same problem with my Nano.  Hit like a marshmellow.  I had to polish it to get a decent reaction.

Well i have not received mine yet. I am still debating on what layout i will use.  I personally have a rev rate of 450 majority of the time unless the lanes demand something else out of me. I believe i will hit it with 2000 and throw a coat of reacta shine on it. then lightly scuff it will an old 4000 pad to add some texture to it.  I cant wait to get it. I have already thrown two at a demo as well as a friends. it seemed to work alot better for me than the nano series did.
