Title: What to expect from a La Nina in 2016

last season I started to drop from 16 lbs equipment to 15 lbs. 

To help that transition along I may snag a couple older balls from my dad that he no longer uses.  the first one that he has admitted he will longer use is a La Nina.  not sure of anything other than its 15lbs, and he got it when it was released way back when.

I bowl mostly sport leagues, just not sure where it could fit.

I have a Lock, Ride and spare that I know will be in the bag.  I have put minimal thought into what will fill out the 15 lbs arsenal so very flexible.

thoughts on the La Nina?

Go long & roll out like it did 15 years ago. The heavy handed guys liked it though because they could polish it and jam on it as much as they wanted and it was still smooth off the spot. The modern day reaction would be something like a Fight.

Very heavy particle load cover by Storm. Even today my guess is that it would roll earlier and more smooth than the Lock.

These were rubber particles so abrasives such as scotch brite, abralon, sia air will allow you to resurface without "cutting" the particles off.  Particles were added to increase friction with the lane surface.

Agreed!
Hyper-early rolling, super smooth, unless yo had tons of ball speed or or were on very heavy oil. The surface often felt you were rubbing something that had been rubberized and grainy.

Thanks for the replies.  I think I will have it plugged/redrilled to fit my hand and give it a go.  might be an interesting choice for some of the sport shots I see.  smooth reactions are never bad.

Compared to an IQ Nano or IQ Tour, a La Nina should be weaker, correct?

It will "appear" weaker. You probaly will not be able to create those sharp left to right angles with it, but if you can keep it in front of you and go direct, you might have a nice little rolly ball you can throw when they're tricky.
