Victory Road Solid Review

Victory Road Solid

PAP – 5.5 over and 7/8 up.

RPM – 500

MPH – 19

With the success of the Victory Road, I was pretty excited to hear that a Victory Road solid was coming out. I have been looking for a replacement for one of my all-time favorites in the T-Road solid and I think we have a winner in the Victory Road solid.

With the success I had with the T-Road solid I decided to put the same layout on the VR solid. Pin above my middle finger with the CG slightly kicked out with a small weight hole. This layout gives me length with control down lane. It works great on medium to long patterns (Chameleon, Scorpion, Masters) where I need to control the back of the lane.

I threw it against my Marvel (pin above bridge with no hole) and Victory Road. Compared to the Marvel, the VR solid was definitely cleaner and stronger down lane.  On the fresh it forced me to play a little deeper (due to the angle it created) than the Marvel but I could use the VR solid for a longer period as the lanes transitioned. Even as the fronts went away I could move left and still get the VR to drive through the pins.

The VR solid is exactly what it should be compared to the Victory Road. They have a similar motion with the solid picking up earlier. If you liked the skid/flip motion of the VR but need just a little more control, the VR solid is a perfect complement to it.

This ball reminds me of the T-Road solid when it first came out. That ball gave me a look that no other ball was close to and right now the VR solid does the same thing. It will be my new benchmark ball and the first ball out of my bag.
