I just punched up my tour pearl and love the overall reaction, but feel it needs just a little more kick in the backend. Trying to figure out where to place the balance hole to accomplish this. Was thinking maybe the MOtion hole. Anyone want to chime

Go 6.75" from the pin and 3.375" from your pap
-
Where along the val?
-
Put the wright hole at a point that dissects 6.75" from the pin and 3.375" from the pap

Extremely rough drawing here

i was thinking it would look something like that
-
The old "double-thumb" drilling may work as well.
-
so strange that the blueprint software has the double thumb decreasing backend. . .

When I think of the double thumb layout, I think of increasing hook, not necessarily backend as I feel it causes the ball to start up slightly earlier
-
It increases flare which increases traction...traction increases overall reaction which is front to back not side to side
The weight hole I suggested increases asymmetry which increases down lane reaction
-
I'll give it a go and let you know how it goes
-
DT shortens the skid phase AND the hook phase so many times it won't result in "more backend".
Depending on your release stats a P1 may be in order. If your VAL angle is too small the ball with "stand up" and roll end over end causing a lack of "backend".
Let us know

Playing with blueprint and xhole locations in many cases on there shows them making the ball hook sooner but not more overall. Its hard to explain, but imagine the "L" on the lane and then adding an xhole and keeping the exact same look but shortening the "L" shape a little bit. Shorter skid but everything else stayed the same.
I encourage everyone to go try the free trialware version. Very helpful and fun.

Unless it's a flare reducing hole, it's going to increase flare which increases traction...this can allow the bowler to play more in the oil or conditioner to increase skid before reacting...weight hole placement - 6.75" from pin - increases adummetry thus increases movement and continuation
Placement thru numbers (distances) increases probability not possibility
-
So before doing anything I went to the lanes and had them oil up the pair. I didnt realize how much oil the r3s pearl needed (tour pearl sle). It came alive and as I've found with most of the iq series..I could pay just about anywhere on a ths dependant on how much rotation I gave it.
Lol now im wondering how many other overseas releases are hidden gems

"Adummetry?" Intentional or a freudian slip?
Rico,
How far over from the midline can you place the hole before you create problems.
