Lastnight in league, a good friend of mine had a very special night.
First off, about my friend. Eric has had several 300's and recently had a 800 series. Eric bowls in the Earl Doty Classic at Southern Bowl in Indiana and averages around 220 so far this year in his leagues. He's a very accurate and smooth bowler and is very successful in the sport/game he plays.
What happened lastnight was the first I have seen. I have seen many 300's, and 800's over my years of bowling. But I have never seen back to back 300's like I did lastnight. He went the first 29 strikes before the 10-pin bit him. He ended up with a 243 (strikes to the tenth then a POCKET 4-9, went for the spare for the City record for series).
He doesn't know I have poseted this but I thought this feat was something very few get to see and I wanted to share with all of you the impressive skill shown lastnight.
Rick.
FYI... www.leaguesecretary.com league 744 Team 12, Eric Aquila. The series will show on the updated sheets by the weekend.
And he was using a XXX for the entire night.

I've also been able to witness back to back 300's. About 4 or so years ago a local bowler started with the front 27 before he started to hic-up. I think he ended the night with a 2-teen, so he saved the 800. Awesome to watch it...even more specail for me as I had something to do with it. Before league started he wanted to resurface the Black Rage that he used to shoot the scores. I asked him why and after talking for a while I decided to just lightly scuff the surface and repolish it up for him. Told him to trust me and go have fun. Well he obviously did...

That, ladies and gentlemen, is called bowling.
My hat's off to that guy.

If horse racing is the sport of kings, then surely bowling is a very good sport as well.
