Title: wood lane ball
Post by: Metal_rules on September 04, 2015, 10:57:19 PM
I am back on wood lanes this season for 1 of my leagues. Shot problem is lack of carry. I am thinking that maybe I need a Pitch Black or a Devour. What do you suggest?

Lack of carry how? And what have you used?

Hyper Cell will work, but I don't have any room for error. Must play up 5 to get correct angle. I do not have enough hand to move in and swing, it will not recover. Shots that are flush may carry or rap ten, if I miss right, weak ten. Also use the Haywire, it works better later around game 3. Still hit or miss.

My pin down Skid will work if I am very accurate with my speed, not much room to miss. I don't have the Wrecker or a Scream, but I will see how my Rising Star will work.

So is the shot playing really tight? Oily? Over under? Im just trying to figure out what you're experiencing. I mean wrap 10s happen and leaving a flat 10 when you miss right isnt really unusual,  especially when you dont have much hand.

Pin carry can just be weird some times. I've had nights where I felt I was locked in but had no luck carrying :-\

The best I can explain it is the pins here just don't mix here, or fly around. Either the side boards are dead, or the deck is lower? The lanes were sanded over the summer. I don't know exactly what ths shot is out, but it seems longer causing late finish. I just can't seem to get many strings going, before I leave a 10 or a 7 etc. I am going to go their and practice more so i can get used to that shot/house.
