Title: yesss!
Post by: 2handedrook12 on February 15, 2013, 09:33:56 PM
I just got my Critical Theory and Hy-Road! Thanks to bowlingball.com
They have some other recent retired balls there too including a darkstar. Can't wait to punch these two up. I now have some of utah's greatest balls ever IMO. What should I set them up to do?

Whatever your local professional ball driller recommends....

Seriously, rook, you've obviously got a lot of enthusiasm towards bowling. We can help you fine tune things with your game but you'll need to provide some info. The best way to get the best from these balls is to find a driller in your area that knows his stuff and let him see you bowl. Determine your rev rate, pap and speed and ask away the questions from the guys on this site and we'll help you as much as we can. The more info we have the more we can recommend something. There are some very knowledgeable guys here but we need info since we can't actually see you bowl unless you provide a video. Both balls you mentioned are awesome balls. The Hy-Road is a benchmark type ball and the CT is an awesome ball for med-heavy oil. But don't get too crazy on the balls, make sure you are getting balls that work on the conditions you bowl on. Learn which layouts and surfaces work best for you and bowl up a Storm!

I've thrown my hy-road already and I love it! I did notice I couldn't play a swing type of line, but I wasn't looking for skid flip. I go the traditional arc I was looking for. I haven't seen his reaction since my Columbia jazz back when I was using my thumb. I have yet to use my critical theory. However I told my ball driller to give me the most possible backend. If I get too much traction in the midlane, I'll take to the natural 4000 instead of 500/4000. Sure I haven't thrown it yet but I have a sense that there will be a gap when I go back to high school bowling next year as a junior. I have finally brought my game together and this will he the first time I actually have won of the greatest equipment. Any suggestions on what balls to look into? Something strong but smooth. Modern Marvel? IQ TOUR? Not sure....

Throw the equipment you have first then figure you gap. A for 2hander like yourself, an !Q tour Pearl would flip out of the building and a modern marvel might burn up. As Freak mentioned earlier, we need some stats, a video, something more than just the generic ball recommendation. Keep working though, you have a great enthusiasm and you're willing to work. Just need a little more info.

19 mph off hand, 530+ rpm, about 50 degrees rotation. I'll try to get a video up a.s.a.p.
