wanting to try something new..can you help??
« on: January 23, 2008, 10:24:17 AM »
Greetings!

Been a long time Track fan for many years.  Looking for a new ball.  Cracked my Track Rule last night in league.  My specs are in my profile.  Looking for a med - med/heavy oil ball.  Just doing my research to see what is out there.  Possibly looking at Lane #1 (anything you guys might be able to suggest), The Rising by Track, or the NV Line by Ebonite.  Current average is 187.  My advanced thanks for your suggestions.  I currently throw the Track Mutant as my primary oil ball but am willing to switch if the right ball comes up.  When the lanes become toast I throw Track Desert Heat.

PS  I took last year off due to having a right total hip replacement.  I'm 38 and I feel stronger now and can bowl more consistently now that my hip pain is gone.

Again thanks for your help.

Now, there are a TON of options for medium to medium/heavy oil.  That's most near every current ball you can buy, to be honest.  The question is what kind of reaction do you want?  Do you want a control ball with a smooth, predictable breakpoint?  Do you want something to open up the backends a little?  Do you prefer a solid or a pearl cover?  Symmetrical or asymmetrical?

Honestly you've got a ton of choices.  I hate to give you a laundry list,  but I'll try to break it down by what type of roll you'd get out of these balls in general.  If you want a low RG symmetrical solid for a heavy rolling ball, check out the Special Agent.  If you want a solid that is more aggressive on the backend, check out the Attitude Shift.  If you want something in-between, check out the Sure Fire or the upcoming Rapid Fire.  And if you want something pearl, the upcoming Gravity Shift sure looks fantastic, but also the Agent and the Spit Fire are quality balls.
