- Reaction: Angular

- Ball comes with a microfiber cleaning sack with instructions on its use.
- Description:
Manufacturer’s Intent - The concept for creating the 706A was simple. We wanted a core/cover combination that would provide the aggressive move at the breakpoint the “A” series is known for, with improved continuation through the pins. Our R&D team accomplished by creating both a brand new core and cover.
Core - The 706A is the first Track ball to feature the brand new Helmet core. This new core design revs up extremely well from the mid-lane to the breakpoint, unleashing the right amount of energy when it encounters friction. The lower intermediate differential compared to previous 700 series ball aids in accomplishing the improved continuation through the pins.
Cover - The cover is what touches the lane, so it is important to use the right cover when targeting the perfect ball motion. The best core design in the world doesn’t do any good unless you have the right cover to take advantage of the core’s strengths. For the 706A, our R&D team developed our new Gen XA (Xtra Angle) cover.
Finish - The finish process is the final factor that determines our overall ball motion. For the 706A, we started with 800 Abranet then followed it up with 1000 and 2000 Abralon. Once the sanding is done, we apply our Powerhouse Factory Finish Polish which is the exact same polish we use on our finish line.
Overall - The 706A is sure to be the choice for Track fans when they are looking for a ball that offers easy length with “Pop” at the breakpoint. The combination of our Helmet core and Gen XA cover will match up best with medium oil patterns. When “Xtra” entry angle is a must, mow’ em down with the Track 706A.

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS

COMMENTS

Likes:The 706A is extremely aggressive at the breakpoint and has great length. The 706A will recover from anywhere. The layout is 80 X 4 1/2 X 60 with a small Xhole on my P3. By far the cleanest Track ball through the front part of the lane with unbelieveable backend end motion! This is way better than the 505A, 508A or the 715A... The 706A is more angluar than those other pieces and alot cleaner in the front. I can see using this alot of the medium Sport  and PBA patterns allowing me to open up the lanes!

Dislikes:Being a straighter player, I have to move farther left and really wheel on it to keep it in the 1 -3. The launch angle is more than I like but the recovery is unbelieveable!

Ok this is one of the best looking balls I have seen, and the performance is just as nice. Very clean but reads the mid lane nice and this is an A ball for sure! This ball creates angle down lane like no other. With this ball even straight players will create angle that throws the wood around like Paul Bunyan. If you want nice mid lane with angle down lane this is the one you want,

COMMENTS
Carry - Ball carries very well, creates a lot of entry angle
Likes - If you liked the 718A, this ball creates the same length and clean motion through the front part of the lane. Then has in my opinion even more backend than the 718A. The new helmet core had me intrigued. And it definitely lived up to the hype. Track is definitely coming out with some awesome equipment this summer.
Dislikes - Ball is not quite as good on the fresh as some other balls. I start with either my 912T or 503T, and this ball goes well behind both of these earlier rolling balls.
Other -The helmet core is very unique in that it is very narrow, and kind of reminds me of the same motion as some symmetrical core bowling balls. It stores energy really well, and I find myself able to throw this ball on short and long patterns.

Likes: T he 706a as the cleanest ball track has made for getting thru the front part of the lane, but dont let that fool you when it comes off the spot lookout its going left. i had to just hit the surface with a used 2000 pad to get the ball away from the hockey stick motion. The hit and carry on this ball is incredible this is a great ball to use when the fronts are going away and you need to get inside and play tighter angles, just feed to the break and watch it strike another great ball by Track and EBI keep up the great work.

706 A – Very Clean and smooth  though the fronts comes off the spot hard and when it hits it is very hard and the carry is very good. I have been able to play inside on a very wet dry condition and it gives me a little extra room for error. If I miss by couple boards to the left it seems to have enough to recover and if I miss in it seems like it holds and does not over react. When I drilled it I hit with 4000 pad.

I liked the 706A so much I drilled another one!!!! The layout I used was 75 X 5 1/2 X 75 and no extra hole. Simply put the layout is pin down with the mass bias next to thumb. My information: Rev rate around 315, Ball speed around 15 MPH, axis tilt is normally around 15 degrees but can tilt it more when needed. The 706A gives me enough length with a strong but readable backend motion. I threw the 706A on several patterns and with my game being a touch straighter than most the 706A was fantastic. The 706A usually gave me the best of both worlds length with a Strong backend motion. Because the 706A is so clean through the front part of the lane, longer patterns created some issues. Scuffing the surface or putting the ball away solved those issues. The 706A is a ball that will be in the bag when I travel to tournaments and league. 706A... Go get it one! You will not be disappointed!

Length: 41 Feet

Volume: 21 ml

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): House

COMMENTS

Likes: Drilled mine 65 x 5 x 40.  Very clean through the fronts, and gives a smooth arc on the backend of the lane.  Most of the "A" series balls have never been very angular for me, but rather a strong arc type motion to it.  Definitely a good piece to go to when the fronts start to get burnt and you are having troubles getting the ball down lane.  My 718A was clean through the front, but had an earlier motion to it due to the stronger core.  This ball is great if you are looking for something to get down lane when the front part of the lane starts to dry up.

Dislikes: Is a little sensative to oil, so be sure you don't pull it out of your bag at the wrong time!

Ball:       706A
Layout:                  70 x 5.5 x 60 – Pin below ring finger
Surface:                  4000 Abralon

Review
I removed the factory polish and went to 4000 abralon and let the lane shine up the ball.  This is typically the second ball out of the bag when the lanes start to burn up.  The pearlized surface helps the ball get through the front part of the lane and is very strong off the break point.  The ball does exactly what I need it to do.  Thank you Track.

Type THS

I had this ball laid out with a rico drilling. The polish was removed and 4000 abralon was applied. This ball is less than the 718A but still has good recovery on the back. On a typical house shot I will pull the 706A out somewhere during the 2nd game depending on whom I’m bowling with/against. It’s a great finisher for me during league.

Dislikes: It's clean.

Observations
Ball is drilled 55x5x35. Shell's been been scuffed down a bit and polished with a little rougher base. I prefer 500/5000/4k/4k over my 500/1000/rubbing compound finish, but both are nothing short of sufficient. It was way too clean with the proprietary EBI polish oob.

This ball goes pretty long. I was caught off guard with this because the biases in my mind said that EBI balls do not go long. This isn't the case. Therefore, in my likes/dislikes, I said that it goes long. It's a love/hate thing at times, but generally I love it, especially at the 4k finish there. It's useful and strong enough on most patterns, and it's clean enough for me to stay right of the headpin longer.

Out of the box, it was too clean up front in the back, and it hated the carrydown, which appears it wasn't designed for that. Whether it was or wasn't, that wasn't the outcome for me. With the scuffed up surface, it reads the carrydown business a little better.

Now, with the addition of the 811CT, I may actually have the luxury of using a bit less surface, since the 811CT can go fairly long and cut the carrydown sufficiently.

My lane play strategy is usually to start with a low-rg symmetrical ball early, so I wouldn't ruin the shim. This is usually the second or third ball out of the bag so I can get some length and some hook in the back there.

Likes: The colors honestly got me, but once  I drilled it, I liked this ball even more. Being that I couldn't drill mine a little stronger because of the 4 1/2 oz Top weight, It is drilled pin below between my fingers. Even that drilling is not bad at all. It gives me more length than my 714C, but I do not mind that at all. loving the 7 series!
