ONE WORD DESCRINES THIS BALL : DEADLY

THIS BALL TURNS THE CORNER HARDER THAN ANYTHING THAT I'VE THROWN.

BUT THERE IS NOTHING LONG ABOUT THIS BALL, YOU STILL HAVE TO HAVE HEAD OIL TO GET THE BALL TO THE BREAKPOINT BECAUSE THIS BALL WANTS TO HOOK

This message is for Robert Brian Levis.  In regards to your question about the similarities between the Enforcer and the Assassin, you mentioned that the "colors" of the Assassin allow the ball to get further down the lane before hooking; in reality, it is the difference in the "cover" of the ball that allow the Assassin to get further down the lane before hooking.  The coverstocks are of basically the same formula, with the exception of the color of the coverstock, and the fact that the Assassin comes out of the box polished rather than dull.  It is the difference in the surface texture that significantly changes the action of the ball in this case.  Both of these balls share a lot of the same technology, but their appearance and "box" condition are significantly different.  Both appear to be excellent choices, with just slightly different principle tasks in mind.  The Enforcer is rated for "heavy" oil in the box condition, where the Assassin is rated for heavy oil to medium oil in the box condition; of

course, the Enforcer can be polished up to the equivalent of the Assassin

Got the Track Assassin with a 3" pin and a top weight of 2.75 oz and

had it drilled leverage weight 4 x 3 3/8. The Track Assassin goes a

little longer but breaks a little harder in the backend than the

Track Enforcer and has the same awesome hitting power with the Track

Enforcer. I'll use the Track Assassin in it's polished state and the

Track Enforcer in it's box condition or duller state for different lane

conditions.

This is going to be one of the best balls released this year. This is ball is cleaner through the fronts than both the champ and enforcer but with so much recovery and just so predictable.  Carry is absolutely phenomenal, what more is there to say? Mine was drilled 5x5 but regardless of the drill pattern this ball seems to be a winner.

This ball hit the pocket like a frieght train. When you hit high, lite or solid pocket usally all the pins go to the pit. I drill my to go long than snap towards the pocket and that what the ball does.

This ball is another awesome ball from track. All I got say to Track keep up the good work

Continuing my experimentation with non-Brunswick equipment, I purchased this ball for a summer "pro" league at Southwyck Lanes in Toledo, OH (home of the PBA National Championship).  Last Wednesday, we had the same PBA lane condition that was used last February in Latham, NY.  A sixteen-pounder, drilled 3 3/8" X 5" with four ounces of top weight, this baby worked well when the shot broke down after a few games.  I'm a righty, and I used the first arrow for most of the evening.  The Assassin has an extremely powerful hit and carries well on a down-and-in shot.  Being a semi-cranker, I left few corners, but did leave an occasional 8-pin or 9-pin!  The large top weight enabled the ball to "loaf" down the lane while maintaining the low-RG, high-rev characteristics.  This rock is great for medium oil, one of Track's best balls to date, and as a result, I won $30 in jackpot money!  I'm looking at the Enforcer for the fresh shot, with its sheen finish, a 2" pin, 2 1/2 ounces of top weight, and drilled 3 3/8" X 3 3/8" for earlier roll.  We'll see if the shoe fits!

Let me first start off by saying WoW! This ball is everything that they said it would be and then SOME! But first let me tell ya what we had to do to it...

After we recieved my Assassin, we could only get them with the pin in instead of my prefered pin out. But after a futher review we decided(me and the guy that drills my stuff) that we would put the pin under my fingers. Yes I know that for most players that would cause a problem. After all, to most players this would cause the ball to go very long with alittle back end. But I really hit on a ball(Cranker) plus I have a ton of ball speed. Due to my high flare potential the new flare pattern wouldn't get near the fingers. But after I threw it a few times I didn't like the reaction I was getting. It was going much longer than we thought and wasn't finishing like we anticipated. So after futher discussion we took the ball back into the pro shop and wet sanded it at 1000 grit. Knocking off the factory polish. We then applied a light polish back onto the ball and this changed the reaction of the ball greatly! I threw a few more times and was rather pleased with the reaction this time.

Then the first set(series) I threw with it was 693! This ball was thrown with the conditions were flooded in the middle and with somewhat shotty back-ends. This ball was controlable to the break point but still had enough drive left to finish with INCREDIBLE POWER! I only had to move 3 boards left of my original mark between all 3 ganmes. This is a definite great addition to any bowlers arsenal! Definite keeper!

But rememebr if you don't get the reaction your looking for don't be afraid to play around with the polish on your own. Sure worked for me!

This ball is an awesome hitting ball. I nees to put a piece of tape in it to help me to hold onto the ball. Once I did that I shot 14 strikes in a row. The ball is drill to get lenght and flip in the back end.

What I have notice is all Track bowling balls I own hits hard and this ball is no expection. So if you want a hard hitting ball go out and purchase one.

This ball continue to impress me. I have used the assassin this week and shot 700 with it. I did find that the way I drill the ball it needs the wright amount of oil in the front because it stores to much eneregy for the back end. I will make a suggestion that when buy the assassin go ahead get it conterpart the enforcer.

At first look I didn't like the Assassin. I didn't like the first one I drilled up either (1:00 drilling). The ball just rolled out at about 35 feet. I sold that one in a hurry. I was disgusted but I decided to give it another chance with my favorite 10:30 drilling.

Looks a little like this:   .(pin)

                         o o

                               x(cg)

                          o

This ball gets down the lane smacks the pins around like tooth picks. I have been using this ball on wood lanes with a flat oil pattern with medium carry down. It's been three weeks of league and I'm averaging 230 with one 300. Oh yeah, I guess I can be considered a power stroker. Conclusion: this ball is a perfect compliment to either of the Track heavy oil balls you own (Contender, Enforcer or Champ). I would definitly recommend this ball for medium oil with carry down. Thanks for your time.

The layout in my previous review was supposed to show the pin over the ring finger and the cg about an in from the axis (or 3 1/2 inches from the center of my grip). Sorry the picture didn't workout.

The Track Assassin has been out for a while and I would like to take a minute and return this ball.

The Assassin was designed to be a long and strong ball.  This is exactly what the ball does. It gets down the lane and then makes a hard, sharp move to the pocket.

If you go over this ball with a scotch brite pad you will be able to calm the skid/flip reaction down, but you are fighting what the ball naturally wants to do.

The Assassin is great for drier lanes, and those conditions when you need strong movement in the backends.

On a scale of 1-10, I would give this ball a 7.  This ball can be a great ball on the right conditions, but if you have some oil in the backend, you will notice over/under with the drive.

If you have any questions, please email me at Bill@buddiesproshop.com

Thanks

Bill

I recently purchased this ball and I have fallen in love with it.  It is the first ball out of my bag.  It gives me great length and a hard driving back end.  The ball seems to keep the pins low to the deck which improves carry.  I am very impressed with this ball.

I have noticed that with a good deal of carry down, the ball does seem to lose hitting power.  When I have to move too deep with it, I lose carry.

Great ball from Track!

Got the ball with a far pin layout. Drilled it Rev-leverage with the pin next to my ring. This ball would snap on the fresh shots, and would tend to be very controllable on the carried down backends. On dry lanes however, this ball would die out. But thats not this ball is made for however. A very strong 9 on a 1-10 scale! Nice work track!

I bought this ball in September and it wass drilled for extra length with the pin above the fingers.  It worked great on almost every condition shooting 750, 775 with it in the box condition, but after 150-200 games on it the box condition wouldn't cut it so now I have it white pad finished on a Haus Resurfacing machine with a real light red pad for a little extrea hook and I shot a 700 at nationals and 719 last night, but the ball still goes long with a huge backend.  Another great ball from Track

Well what can I say.  My assassin is drilled to go long and snap.  Thats exactly what it does.  This ball is unbeleivable and is always the first ball out of my bag.  Very consistent and the carry is awesome.  Just last week I had a 793 (career high) set and a 299 game.  The only time I couldnt use this ball was when I encountered a heavy oil shot with wet backend.  I highly recommend this ball to anyone who is looking for a good hard hitting ball.  Good bowling.

See ya

stats:: right hander, 15-17 mph, above avg. revs...

drill:: stack leverage, pin is about 1 inch above my ring finger, and cg is 3/4 of an inch under my ring finger..

surface:: for the first 7-8 games i used the ball, i left it in the box finish, but then i couldn't get the ball to carry and i would consistently leave weak 10 pins or flat 8 pins... so i took it in to my pro shop, went over it lightly with a scotch brite, and now i haven't left an 8 or 10 pin..

the assassin is primarily the first ball out of my bag cause my rock is almost gone. i would ive this a solid 9 on versatility, an 8 for power, and a 8.5 for good control... a solid 8.5 overall

on my primary house condition, they put a heavy coat outside of 5 and a very thin coat inside.. my primary line is between 18-22 out to 15 and swung to about 10-11 and hits the pocket pretty flush... but sometimes we have a lack of carry.

This is my first review, so I'll try and be as accurate as possible. Read my profile for stats. I bought this ball in Sept. 2000. I ordered it with a long, 4-5" pin to Cg. I had it drilled 5x5, with the pin just above the ring finger, and the Cg just left of center. Lane conditions: a WALL just about everywhere that I bowl. I usually play 12-15 at the arrows, out to anywhere outside of 10. Swing any ball outside of 10 and it'll charge back to the pocket. Anyway, this ball reacted very well for a few months. Lots of high scores, the ball was easy to flip, and great carry. I used it a lot, always cleaning it properly after 3 games, refinishing it when needed. I would estimate that I've got about 150 games on it. It's finally lost it's hitting power. I can still get it to the pocket easily, but the carry is gone (lots of flat 7's). I think that this ball should be drilled with more of a leverage drilling, so that when the cover weakens, the strong drilling will still be there. All in all, a great ball from Track, 8 out of 10.

I got my assassin from my son. He didn't like it because of the over under reaction he got when he used it. He's only 14 but know's what he want's the ball to do. The pin's out about 3''  was polished with a weight hole. I really don't know if it's stacked or not but it look's like a mild leverage weight. He shined it up too much so lost all reaction gave it to, me tried it once hated it, put it in the closet for about 3 months trying to decide if I should plug it or change the surface? Decided to wt sand it with 600 very lightly to break the shine and give it some teeth! What a great idea that was I've used it twice since then but really haven't put it in my bag until after league tonite. First time I've used it at this center 238,248,240=726.By far not my best set, game 1 last 8, 2 splits 3 & 4 game 2 3 10 pins, clean game 3 same as the first, back to back frames of brain farts!!!!!!!! If you've never tried this one don't give up on it like I did tweek the cover until you get the reaction you want 9 out of 10

Hey, I have had my assasin for about 6 months now, and i have it drilled for extreme lenght with maximum back end. I find it very usefull on medium lanes to dry lanes becuase it gives me very good distances... i have shot numerous 279's with it and 4 800's, one of which included a 290 and 300. On oil i also think it does a good job, although i do not use it as much... i think it is a must for any bowler who likes Track Equipment...

I am a 14 year old Lefty. I am pretty good. I had the Assassin for about a year now and I just luv this ball. I have bowled my hiest game and my highest series with this ball. I usually keep the outside of my left foot on the 38 board and throw it around the 15 board. But it usually depends on how the lane it. The bowling center that i bowl at is usually heavy on oil so that is why i like the Assassin. It works good on those kinds of conditions. My pin is just above my ring finger. I throw my ball pretty hard and put a lot of revs on it. All I do is keep my eye on my mark and roll the ball over it and then BANG!!!!!! no more pins. LOL

hate me because your not...

The assassin is a great track ball. It compliments an arsenal of a silencer and enforcer. My ball is having its one year old birthday this january, so happy birthday, but the ball has gotten better with age. It helped me make the counties and finish #20 with a 198 average. This year it has helpedme bowl 668 and 670 (with a 265, which also gave me high game in my yaba league). I a 16 and a half, power tweener, the power of the cranker, the accuracy of the stroker. I an rave all I want about this ball, its that damn good. I have found tremoundous place in my arsenal with this ball. The pin isbelow the ring fingr hole aboout an inch. Ball works well on med to oil to dry. I give it a 265 out of 10. HAppy Birthday Assassin.

I have had this ball since it was released. I love it. But this ball is not a huge hooker, it has alot of backend, but if you have spotty backends or the lane is just flooded put it away.
The Assassin has its place and oil is not it. If you can find a dry board this ball will RIP the rack.
to rate this ball I give it an 8. If it were a little more reliable on oil I wouldn't need another ball

Out of all the balls I've ever owned this ball is the best ever. It has the most hook and does great on heavy oil but on a dry condition it grabbes the lane to quick. On oil it is great and the best part about it is when you let it off your hand you don't have to flip it to get it to hook. I won my first travel tournament with this ball. I am rating this ball a perfect ten and thanks Charlie's Pro Shoppe for recomending this ball!

I bowled with the Assassin for a little less than a year.  I moved up from YABA to ABC in May of last year.  The 3rd night of league play with the ball, I rolled my first 300 at age 16.  The Track Assassin is the best ball that I have ever thrown.  I am now trying out a new Hex, but I stand by my Assassin!

I have had my assassin for about 2 years now and it has never really done me any good. Maybe it's because it's drilled with the pin under and to the right of the ring finger with the CG down and to the right of that. It also has a weight hole larger than my thumb hole.  It cuts through the front oil but the backend reaction is very weak. It has a slow arc to the pocket and doesnt carry well. Rating 3 out of 10.

I got one in July of 2000 which makes it about 2 years old.  For the first year it hooked too much for me so i didn't use it much but then it mellowed out and i scored well with it (several 270s and an 821) but then it just lost everything it had.  I resurfaced it but that didn't do anything for me.  I wish it wouldn't have changed so much from new to now.

Stats are in profile

Review 1:  At first I had this ball drilled 5 x 4 1/2 with the pin over the ring finger and the CG below it no weighthole.  This ball was great for the flatter Medium-Heavy oil sport shot with flying backends that I was playing on in a sport league in the spring.  This ball enabled me to keep it in play while swinging 15-9 and gave me a few boards more to miss than the rest of the competition.  I felt comfortable missing right because this ball rolls so heavy in the midlane that it had enough energy to carry the light hits and if I missed a board or two left I was able to go high enough in the pocket to leave a makeable 4 pin or 4-7 combination.  On a house shot this was equally good except that the ball would check up way too early if it got in the dry part of the lane around 30 feet or so.

Review 2:  I redrilled this ball 1 1/2 x 4 according to the drill sheet for more of a Hook-stop reaction.  Now I love this ball even more.  It enables me to play the drier part of the lane without worrying about a continuous hook.  This ball gets through the heads really well, revs midlane and arcs but rolls forward in the last 5 feet or so of the lane giving me perfect control over the pocket.  Now it's alot easier for me to know when I made a bad shot since the ball won't hesitate to roll into the nose if I miss 2 or 3 boards left.  It is also good for swinging the lane with a house shot since I don't have to worry about a sharp breakpoint leaving me with washouts.

Overall this is one of the best balls I've tried in consistancy with different drills.  I wish track had a suitable replacement for this thing.  The Mojo and Revmaster are supposed to replace it but they are much too flippy to resemble the smooth roll of the Assassin.  Great job Track, just make something new to replace this thing.

15#
pin 1-2"

Drilled:  pin below ring finger, cg @ 6:00

This ball rolls fairly early, and tends to roll out on drier patterns.  This ball works well on extreme over-under conditions.  It also has been a good ball when there is quite a bit of carrydown on the lanes.  I haven't had much luck with this ball on any other conditions.  I guess I would have to give this ball a 7 out of 10.

This is my first post since becoming a member.  I thought I'd make my first post on my best ball: Track Assassin.  I bought the ball almost 2.5 years ago and then had to stop bowling.  I started again and shot 711 with it right out of the bag.  One of the best balls I've ever owned.  I've got it set up to go long and snap hard and it does just that!  It has nice hitting power too which makes this a nice all around ball.

I can't be technical because I don't have the vocabulary.  However, I went bowling tonight for the first time in 2 1/2 years.  My bowling balls have been in the bag the entire time.  I pulled the Assassin out and burried the pocket right away.  My games are nothing to brag about, but the way the assassin hit tonight is.  I was on medium oil, playing a down and in shot.  I was amazed at how long the ball held before it finally smashed the pocket.

Anyway, this ball is now some 4 or 5 years old and it still has all the power it had when I pulled it from the box.  I figured that was at least worth noting.

Not one of the best track balls ive owned. but a fairly good investment. Was drilled for a different lefty...changed the span but didnt change the overall drilling so its not setup right, but rolls good enough. the 2 in pin label leverage. Used dull. Gets pretty good length but in carrydown its horrible. for me. condition specific on a shorter med. oil pattern. great carry, but gets far less length than my freak, mojo, and triton that are drilled 5x5. A solid consistent ball in my mind, but not the best.

GREAT BALL!!!

This is the first track ball I've ever thrown, and I love it! It is the best ball in my arsenal. Drilled pin right of ring cg stacked below. I bought this ball on it's third drill for the cost of shipping, and it puts all of my other balls to shame. The house uses med oil every few days before league play, so by the time I get to the lanes for the dollar a game bowling, the lanes are fairly dry. I'd say the assassin is most comparable to my Xxcel. It has a strong midlane roll, and an amazing backend reaction. I struggle a great deal with consistency in my release, but the assassin seems to be very "sympathetic to my needs". If I roll it too far out to the right it will take a sharp turn right into the pocket (usually leaving   6 and 10. If I miss my mark to the left, the ball will go straight at the head pin, then without losing it's revs will move slightly to the left of the head pin and result in an uncomfortable strike. I average around 156, but last night with the Assassin I bowled a 194, 170, and 225. The 225 was the first time I'd ever hit every pin! On a side note, the fellow who sold it to me got rid of it, because he couldn't get it to move in oil after it's 3rd drill. On the dry, it is more predictable and powerful than Ebonite's One, Over Time, and Lane 1's Hybrid Dirty Bomb.
--------------------
Look for me in the upcoming PBA Tour! I'll be the guy in the back row with the foam finger singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the 7th inning.
