I posted a very early review on 03/11/04. I said I would comment after more games. I figured out the correct way to play this ball and WOW was this incredible. On Thursday, March 25th, 2004, I shot 269, 267, & 248 total = 784. This is my highest ever. Then the following Sunday, March 28th, 2004, I shot 248, 277, & 235 total = 760. These were my two highest series ever all within a couple of days. I only average in the low to mid 200's. This ball is unbelievable in medium oil to dry condition. The ball gets down the lane nicely and sets up great and explodes on the back end. The ball HITS LIKE A MACK TRUCK! Under medium to dry conditions, you can play more straight up then any other ball that I have and then the ball makes a mad dash for the pocket with a ton of energy left. Track gets a 10 from me, BUT WHY ARE THEY YOU DISCONTINUING IT?

Lane Conditions: Wood lanes, 44ft house shot, dry on the outsides

Hook: For being particle, this ball reacted so much like a reactive. Length and extremely strong at the breakpoint. If there is carrydown or the backends are spotty at all and the ball hits it......skate city. It has to have dry backends in order to move. 7.5

Control: It has a strong breakpoint, but it is typical every time there. Meaning, if you hit the mark it will react the same every time, but if you miss it will be unforgiving. 8.0

Hit: It hits rather well, but not quite up with some of the other Track balls. It does not OVER HIT though, it gives just enough, and it carries well. There always seems to be a messenger on the deck to take a pin that was left behind.

Readability: This is definately not the ball someone would want to use to read the lanes. It is way too skid/flip for that. 7.0

Overall: I can see how this ball was so popular. I see it much more playable for someone with slower ball speed. Give it a chance to react, and it will treat you well.

The Track-Threat is very good on mid oil lanes and some heavy oil lanes. i own a Storm-Shock Trauma and Track-Threat and I really use the threat more cuz it burns up the lanes.

I think maybe it's the setup on it,because mine never played like others.
I usually throw it through the break point even on dry lanes,have to slow it down to get a 3-4 board break out of it. I aint gonna diss it cuz I do believe it's the setup.

Bought this ball for a couple of reasons, the first being it cost me $14 on eBay. But with a ball with top weight this low, I figured it would be a good choice to put some kind of experimental drilling on.

Turns out I was correct. The CG-axis drilling I picked makes this ball infinitely controllable and a great choice late in a block. My house is on the dry side of medium, but because it does not have a drastic "wall" in the middle of the lane, by the end of the night, chasing the oil typically means moving outside and playing away from the track area.

The combination of this ball's mild particle pearl cover, the layout and the fact it's simply older technology at this point make it a good fit for my needs.  The ball covers outside angles well without overreacting, but still has enough fight in it to be useful early in a block from more inside angles.

This ball is an ideal choice for bowlers needing an "alternative piece" to complement newer, more aggressive balls. X-outs are still available through some shops and most of the X-outs I've seen are for top weight numbers only, which actually can work in your favor.

Glad I bought it. It was a steal for the money and fills a niche.
