Xception

Track technology gives you the Xception and the Rule. Complementing the power and performance of the Rule in heavier-oil conditions, the Xception offers exceptional hook potential in medium-oil conditions. Our new, evolutionary Goo-LS reactive coverstock houses the same high-revving, angular Morpheus 2.0 rev lever core as the Rule. Long and strong, Goo-LS retains energy and maintains mid-lane consistency better than the competitive high-performance products. Get the confidence you need to open up the lane as it transitions. Get the Xception. Performance you've grown to expect from Track.

Track X-Ception
Weight: 15#
Pin: 4"
Top Weight: 3.75

Objective:
Got this at a Track Seminar hosted by Del Warren, and I have been really wanting to get my hands on the X-Ception ever since I heard it was coming out.

Layout:
5 1/2" Pin, Bias at 5:30 strong, Pin above ring finger

We chose this layout because I wanted to see if it was possible for this ball to have more backend reaction than my Phenom Unleashed, and the fact that any of my other Track equipment have ever been drilled like this one.

On a fresh shot, the X-Ception would make you think it wasn't coming back, but to my amazement when it touched dry it hooked a bunch! Tons of backend reaction, even more than the Phenom Unleashed! When the lanes started breaking down is when this ball came to life. In the past few weeks ever since obtaining the X-Ception I have shot a couple of 700+ series as well. It doesn't react very good with a lot of carrydown, but with a light coat of carrydown it eats through the oil and still kills the pocket!

X-Ception vs. Rule
The X-Ception goes longer and snaps a lot harder than the Rule. The Rule arcs quicker in my opinion but that maybe due to difference in layouts as well. As far as value for your buck, I would go with the X-Ception. It is a lot more consistent with read and carry than the Rule. I still like both of them though!

Conclusion:
Excellent High Performance bowling ball, retains all of its energy for the backend and gets through the heads great!

Found this one under the christmas tree saturday morning.

The ball so far is great(i've only thrown it one day). It gets down the lane and snaps.Icouldn't control it, until i got my ball speed up at least 2mph from what it usually is. it worked, i went from 180's into the high 200's. Then my sixth game with this ball i snapped of a 300 (second of career,I shot the other one with my RULE)

On fresh oil this one works well, but after a few games i had to put it away.

i suggest u check this one out.

IF YOU HAVE WANTED TO TRY A HIGH PERFORMANCE TRACK BALL BUT WAS AFRAID IT MAY HOOK TOO MUCH......THIS BALL IS FOR YOU!!!!

Ball: ball#1- pin is below the ring finger 4 3/4 from PAP, MB is 1 inch right of the thumb 5 inches from PAP, surface is factory. Ball#2 pin is in the leverage position 2 inches above the midline and MB is on my VAL 3 3/4 from PAP, surface is 800grit scotchbrite.

Lane Conditions: various

Reaction: Ball#1 gets down the lane with ease and moves extremely strong on the backends. I tend to use this when I hit a shorter pattern or when the heads start to go. Ball#2 only rolls up about 5ft sooner than ball1, but what is great is that it still has that strong backend....not as "flippy", but definately angular. Ball 1 skid/flip, Ball 2 skid/roll/very strong arc

HOOK: Ball 1 covers all of the boards it is going to cover when it gets to the backend. It SHINES on mediums, and it ignores carrydown if you can find a dry area to get it drive from. When the lanes get too dry it will jump too strongly and when there is too much oil it will skate like Pavel Bure. 7.0
Ball 2 is where I usually go when ball 1 just goes a little too long. This ball will not handle heavy oil, but it covers medium heavy to medium light very well. You get a little bit of help from this one in the middle of the lane, but majority of the hook it is going to give you will be in the backend as well. When the backends are hooking too much for ball 1, ball 2 will often hook set and score like crazy. 8.0

Control: Ball 1 and control just do not go well together. It definately controls the heads and midlanes, but the breakpoint is too strong to consider this a control ball. 5.0
Ball 2 Control is everything this ball is about. Strong backend but not "jumpy". It gives a very predictable roll throughout the entire lane. 9.0

HIT: Both of these balls are like ticking time bombs going down the lane....and when they hit the pins they totally level everything in their path. I say this....but really need to add that they hit extremely hard when used on the conditions that they are meant to be used on. ball 1 will not hit very hard if you try to use it on too much oil, ball 2 will not hit very hard if it does not have the head oil to help it down the lane. 9.5

Readability: Ball 1 is too skid flip to read lanes with. 6.0

Ball 2 is perfect for reading the pattern. A ball that is as smooth as this one is exactly what I want when I read a lane condition. You can easily see the transition from heavy oil to buffed area to dry. If it does not roll up until very late down the lane then you know it is a longer pattern and vice versa. 9.0

OVERALL: This ball is not a heavy oil ball unless you have some serious hand, or throw the ball slower than my grandmother. Ball 2 is laid out as strong as it could be for me and it will not get the job done on heavy oil. Track knew what they were doing with this ball....it compliments the Rule perfectly. Goo LS is the ball that bowlers have been wanting from Track for a long time.

I give the Xception a 9.5 overall rating. This ball does exactly what Track says it does.

Pros:  Get down the lane and has a great strong move on the back ends!
Cons:  none as of yet

Lane Condition bowled on= fresh oil 42ft on new synthetic hpl lanes.

Bowling style= Right Handed semi Cranker, 18-19 mph ball speed.

Ball condition= Brand new in box surface condition

layout= drilled fingertip, pin above and in between the fingers, cg moved right toward pap,MB rt of thumb about 1". My PAP is 5" over, and 3/4" up.

The Xception is a great ball for someone that wants a long and sharp reaction. It has no problem getting down the lane, and has a great strong recovery. Compared to my Freak-A-Zoid, I'd say it 's about 4ft in length further down the lane b4 it starts to hook. I shot 300-836 with it sunday 1-9-05, only the 2nd time i used it.

Click the link for a pic of the layout.

16lbs
pin 4"
top weight 3.5 ozs
(my specs are in my profile)

Well i made a trade with a buddy of mine for this ball. I kept the same drilling he had on it pin next to ring MB about 2" right of thumb and axis was 4  1/4" from pin. First night i had this ball i shot 757 out of the gate (267-248-247). This ball is very angular an hits like a truck. Exceptional ball..It will make a serious running for ball of the yr.
Little follow up Reviews.. 1 week an 1 day after rolling the 757 with this ball, I rolled it again different shot, different house, different league.. (259-244-268=771) WHAT A BALL!!

I absolutely loved this ball out of the box. I give the ball alot of hand and speed. Basically when I very first got this ball, I could throw it anywhere and it would go incredibly long and make the turn to the pocket.
CG and pin stacked. Pin 2" from CG.
I had a friend buy this ball and his reaction at the end of the lane compared to other balls is tremendous.
I found that the ball takes up alot of oil early like most track balls and you won't find this type of reaction after 20+ games.  But overall the ball really turns the corner like no other ball i've seen.

Bowler stats:

Lefty
24-28 km/h
45 axis tilt (varies dependant on condition)
14-16 revs per shot

Ball specs:
15lb 4
PIN: 4”
Top weight: 3 3/4lb
Surface:  Box (Polished)

Drilling:  PIN under bridge, MB on VAL, Balance hole 1 1/64th  2 inches down

I have loved every single pearl release Track has produced, in particular, pearl balls with a Mass Bias core.  I knew this ball was going to be special, especially anywhere I could play up the edge

The drilling I chose was the same as the GP2, the aim, to use both balls as a 1-2 combination.  But after bowling them together, they couldn’t be further apart in the characteristics.

The GP2 (see review) gave me raw hook, early, with a strong controlled movement.

The Xception, quite the opposite, it was 8-10ft longer on the house pattern I tested it with a neck snapping movement to the pocket.   Quite amazing and it looked awesome!  Surprisingly though, it covered the same amount of boards of hook as the GP2, just a completely different look on the lanes.  The movement was so strong it scared me.  Had I discovered the best pearl ball ever? lol

On the house pattern this ball easily out carried the GP2 but the GP2 was not really suited to the house pattern so it was hard to judge.  The Xception showed no signs of rolling out and responded to different angles, tilts and speeds when I tried different parts of the lane.  I tried but I couldn’t fault this ball, it was simply amazing.

I’ve used this ball in 2 tournaments (National Ranked Events) now  with 2 x 2nd placings to show for it.    Both times I thrown down the gutter, ball gets 40ft and then goes right in a hurry.  The carry percentage from this angle is impeccable, probably the best ball I have ever thrown for this shot.

So in summary, the Xception is truly an exceptional ball.  Its ability to adjust to angles, tilts and speeds is in the hand of the bowler.  If you ask, it responds!  Best suited for medium conditions however I’m sure if you drilled one low flare you could use it on heavier patterns but why would you if owned a GP2?  An amazing ball, a must have!

10/10 again………  Between the GP2 and the Xception how can Track better this?  The bar is set extremely high

I throw med-fast with high revs. Lefty, 15#, Pin left of ring finger 1", Pin 2", drilled with cg out for leverage. MB on thumb.

I've had this ball for 2 weeks now and have thrown it at 5 different houses and the reactions from the ball have been the same. When it is a fresh shot the ball goes long and then turns on a dime. If you can hit the break point this ball is coming hard to the hole and destroys the pins. After a couple of games when there is carry down and heads are beginning to go you can go deeper and there is little less skid/flip and more arcing to the hole. As the games go on the ball is more forgiving for me.

By far the hardest hitting ball and the best carrying ball in my stash.

My friend has one and he needs to pull it back out so we can compare reactions. I know the dirty bomb is working good right now but come on bring it back so we can battle it out. Lefty vs. Righty. I'll win since he will foul in the 10th.

Ball specs
15.3 lbs.
2 3/4 oz. top weight
3" Pin

Drilled with the pin above the ring finger and MB next to the thumb, strong position from what I understand.  It has 3/4 oz. side weight and 5/8 oz. finger weight.  The surface is sanded to 1500 grit, highly polished.

Since I got the Xception, I've been lucky enough to throw it on several different lane conditions as well as on both wood and synthetic lanes.  With the drilling I have, I get excellent length and awesome hook on the backend.  The hitting power and pin action of this ball seems to be a bit better than that of my Rule which surprised me.

On heavier oil is where this ball shined, especially if there was some carrydown.  While my other balls would hang because of the carrydown, the Xception never quit and made the turn up to the pocket.  When on medium oil and clean backends, I felt that this ball was too much and had to put it up.  Once there was some carrydown, I got it back out and played 17 out to 5 or 6 board with success.

I highly recommend the Xception for those who are looking for a ball with some length and pop on the backends.  This is an incredible ball made by an incredible company.  Thanks to tenpinspro, aka Rick Leong, at Ten Pins Pro Shop in Alameda, CA. for punching this beast out for me.

I drilled my Xception 4.5 x 3 with the pin under my fingers and balance hole on my axis. This ball rolls very even and hits like a truck. This is my go to ball when the track starts to hook and there is a little carry down. Great ball for the 2nd shift. This is one of the best balls I have ever seen that rolls through the midlane without over reacting. This ball does not like a ton of oil and it also does not like super dry heads but for everything else in between this is a great ball.

I have 2 Xceptions to review. The Xception is great at getting down the lane with allot of recovery.

Ball#1 - Pin above middle finger and mb in position #2 next to thumb. I use this ball when added length is necessary. This drill allows me to get the ball through the burnt heads easily and not lose any recovery or carry.

Ball#2 - Pin under the fingers on grip midline mb in position #3 right of thumb. This drill allows me to get the ball started sooner and still has allot of back-end. I use this when I want to cover allot of boards. I can throw this ball coast to coast.

Drilled a 3" pin, 5 x 5, (pin above my ring finger, MB under my thumb). I left the cover with the box finish. My axis is 5 1/2 up 1/4 with a rev rate around 400.

The Xception is one of my favorites.  It has a roll much like the Phenom Unleashed, but is cleaner through the heads with the same snappy, angular movement at the break point.
I used it recently on the PBA Chameleon (D) pattern, and the pearlized cover, matched with the strong core, allowed me to play further left at the arrows, and open up the lane going left to right, which favors my swing plane. The ball pushes through the heads very easy, and makes a great move on the backend.  It has been one of the hottest and most talked about balls in my shop.  Bowlers of all different styles have liked this ball.  It’s a winner.

I have 2 exceptions 1 I left out of the box the other
I scuffed with an old beat up green pad.

Both balls have exceptional backend movement.

For med-med/dry conditions I use the box finish.
I drilled this ball with the pin below and between my fingers
cg 1 1/2 inches to the right x hole inch past my PAP.

For heavy-med/heavy conditions I use the scuffed ball.
I drilled this ball with the pin below my ring finger cG 3 inches to the right
x hole 2 1/2 inches below my pAP.

Both balls allow me to open up the lane.
They never seem to lose energy on the back.

One very versatile ball.

I drilled this ball with the pin above the ring finger, with the cg kicked an inch right, and the MB an inch right of the thumb.  In my opinion this is the biggest skid/flip ball available from Track. It is very clean through the front and mid lane, with a strong backend, yet it doesn't jerk on the backend. This ball allowed me to be able to play left when the lane breaks down, and has the backend to allow me to open up the lane.  Avoid long and heavy patterns with this ball, the Rule and Slash are better options.

Personal PAP 6 over 1 up, speed 15-16mph, weight 16lbs

Layout
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wODA5NTY4NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg
-designed to be skid/flip, to open up the lanes a good deal

Testing Conditions: drier THS, second-shift league pattern, tougher than a THS, not as tough as a sport shot

Readability and Hook: This ball is very clean through the heads and the midlane as well, the beauty about this ball is you see it want to make it's move, but it waits til the backend and just takes off.  Very strong reaction off the dry, but still needs some oil in the heads and mids to let it skate through.  Recovery is outstanding with this ball, shots pitched right come back (although not always in the out-of-bounds).  When there is still head oil and not so much in the midlane, this ball does bleed energy a little bit in the midlane, but then the backend reaction becomes more of an arc than a flip.  This is very beneficial because I can use this ball when the mids start to transition and I can get a nice clean reaction through the heads and no real SNAP on the backend.

Control: Not designed to be a control ball, and it definitely isn't, but I can open up the lanes on the fresher stuff, and when the mids start to transition, I can still open up and have more of a backend arc than a flip.  Definitely NOT recommended to be a control ball.

Hit: Extremely well. Ball carries from most angles, has a bit of trouble if I get in too deep on torched mids, ball bleeds some energy and the hit is weaker, but that's when I let the surface get me through the heads and mids and not the core/cover combo.

Overall: Very impressed with this ball, I can open up the lanes on anything but fresh heavy oil, everything down to the sahara is covered (unless I try to get in too deep on torched mids, as stated earlier) and as the backend dries up, the backend movement of this ball increases, but as the midlane dries up, the backend movement becomes an arc rather than a flip.  I can go to this ball when my Rule starts to move too early or when my Threat is too strong in the midlane or Triton Elite Pearl is too much in the backend.

Thanks to Dan Karbowski (thirtyclean) for the layout suggestion!

I bowl in a wood house with cooked heads. 38 Ft Pattern with a buff to 42-ft. Ball speed 18-19 mph. Med. revs. Pin was 3-4 inches. Pin is about ½ inch ring finger. Mb kicked 3’ right of the thumb. Weight hole is on my grip line and also 1’ to the right of the cg. This ball really lives up to its name exceptionally long and strong. In my house I can just get in and wheel it and it comes back from about anywhere and hits like a truck. And carries the corners great. Great 1,2,3 punch with the Gp2, Aggressive, and Exception. Talk about length and flip! The GOO LS coverstock really lets this one clear the heads w/ ultimate ease, and that's when the Rev Lever core takes over. I wanted to rate it against my Rule, so I drilled it with same layout, a 5" pin above the fingers and a 4" Mass Bias position. A 1" balance hole drilled 2" deep on my pos. axis got it back to legal. On a wet/dry house condition, the Xception played great anywhere from 13 into the dry and even got to the end of the pattern without burning up when going down the rail. In final analysis, the Xception got anywhere from 3-6' more length than the Rule with similar surface prep when thrown on identical lines, especially down-and-in trajectories.

just like the name states...this is trully an exceptionally good ball...just got mine recently...got it actually for about 140 bucks and i asked the guy why hes selling for that cheap and he said cause the pin is longer than normal balls...about 4 to be precise...got it drilled with the pin at 11:30 and the mb half an inch to the left of the thumb....and reacts just like as every one has said about this ball...clears the head with ease and does its business in the backend...its the best ball i have thrown out of the box and will look forward to the 700 series and possibly an 800 that ill be throwing with this ball...and quite surprisingly i find it easier to control this ball than my x-factor ace...a must have ball if your looking for a skid/flip type of ball....

Ball Specs: 15 pounds, 4 ounces. 3.5 ounces of top weight with a 2 inch pin.
Ball Drilled: Pin over bridge, mass bias right of thumb in flip position.

I got this ball NIB at a great price because it was an X out second. The color swirls were off, BIG DEAL!! Color swirls dont affect performance. Anyway, I wanted a ball to go long and snap. This ball does that and then some. Great ball for opening up the lane.

First shot, Thursday night league, THS oiled 5 to 5. Med across, buffed to 42'. Shot the ball over 13 out to 6, this ball got great length and then OOHHH SNAP!! It turned left harder than any ball I have ever seen. When it got near the pocket, WATCH OUT!! I am surprised pins didn't fly half way up the lane. This ball wrecks everything in sight!! It hits with authority, harder than any ball I have ever thrown.

Second shot, Friday night league, broken down THS. Sloppy heads, spotty backends. I moved a bit right and played up over 10 out to 4 and the ball was XCEPTIONAL!! Same results as before. Went long and snapped hard, smashing the pocket.

Overall, this ball is not made for control. It goes long and then snaps out of the building. IMHO, this is the best ball Track has ever made. This ball is simply a wrecking machine!! Great ball to go long and snap hard.

Hello. I just bought this ball and had it drilled up fully aggressive. I can get a pretty good read with this ball in the midlane. It does not work well with torched heads but other than that is great. I just got it this past Friday and in my league today threw a 614(175(ricochet),214,225). VERY SNAPPY BACKEND. MAKE SURE YOU GIVE THIS BALL PLENTY OF ROOM OR IT WILL SNAP AND GO BROOKLYN. great snap and backend. SUperB PIN ACTION. PINS ARE FLYING EVERYWHERE!
UPDATE! This thing is so good on the THS. I have been playing 28-10 and this ball takes care of the job with a hard snap and superior pin action. A couple of days ago I threw a 276 with it and also fired a 279 with the last 10. Unbelievable move to the pocket. Other good series with it include a 691 and 707.

This ball is great! Drilled it like my Intense Inferno with the pin under the ring finger, and for starters the pin action is crazy insane and insane crazy! Xception gets through the heads real easy, but is dangerously violent in the backends. Easily controllable (at least in my hands) The colors are great to!
At the End of the day this ball is Xceptionally Imperail!

mine is drilled somewhat stacked pin next to my ring bit up about an inch and the massbias directly next to my thumb. the ball is an x-out because of a few things, the top weight was 1 1/4 the pin was 5 in and the cg was at 10 o'clock to the mass bias witch was only less than an inch away. the ball still needed a x-hole.

about the ball. all i wanted out of it was a ball that flipped. well i got that and then some. it is so much stronger than i expected and it hit like a truck. i used it on a few shots, pattern C and D. on pattern C I put it down at about 23-24 to have it break at 14-15 and it crushed the pocket, no weak leaves as long as I took good shots.

on pattern D it really impressed me it gave me about 3 boards of room. I set it down on 32 it broke at around 14-15 and crushed the pocket but i got any more than 3 boards left it just skid into the 4 pin.

over all i couldent be happier great readable ball that hits and it looks so good goin down the lane espically when it flips. great purchase, best 70 bucks i have ever spent.

if you have any questions send me a message.

Greetings!

Player specs are on Profile....

15lb 2 oz with 3 inch pin and 3 oz top weight.

Went with a 5 1/4 by 4 1/2 drill on this. Pin is centered on bridge and MB is an inch right of thumb.  Ball was left in box condition.

Was looking for skid/snap type reaction for use on carrydown type conditions.  Tested on a very of conditions and lane surfaces.

No matter the surface, this ball just ignores the first 30 feet of the lane.  Once it hits the back half of the midlane, then the fun begins.  Serious turn and burn baby!  Really strong move to the pocket, not quite snappy but a very strong arc.  This ball has serious recovery room and lets me get away with almost murder if I get it right of target.  This ball really handles carrydown for me and gives me a great look while others struggle.  Hit is slightly different than the other Track pieces I have.  Lots of swishing and messengers due to the entry angle.  Ball retains energy extremely well.  This ball definately shines on patterns that are starting to break down a bit.  Really nice fit between the Blue Heat and the VooDoo, plus the pearl green is quite cool looking while it shreds the rack..

Another fine piece from the boys and girls in San Antonio!

Having returned to the profession after a brief attempt at married life, I gazed out of my window down Rose Street and watched the patrons of the New Myrtle's Grill waddling out after too much of Myrtle's cherry pie.  As she walked in front of Myrtle's toward my building, there was no trying not noticing her.  Dressed in a red and black camisole that displayed more curves than Darlington, she walked, if what she did could be described that way, to the building.  I tell ya, its a whole nother sex.

Exactly 47 seconds later, she came into my office and sat down with a notepad on her lap.  The notepad had the words "Rule" and "Xception" written on it. She was about 35, bottle blond with green eyes, wearing a little too much make up and clothes that looked like they were body paint.  I notice such things because I am a trained detective.  She said her name was Ellen Shepherd, and her job was designing whoopee cushions for Bonco.  I said, "doesn't wash sister.  No whoopee cushion designer has a flipside like that."  "Oh allright, I'm a professor of physics at Newton."  "But you don't like playing by and with the normal Rules."  "That's right."  "So you want my to check out if there is an Xception for you."  "Yes.  How did you know." "It's either my amazing psychic powers, or its the only reasonable deduction from what is written on the notepad sitting on your lap."  I gave her my educational institution rate, which is my hourly rate plus a promise of dinner and her phone number.  Cell, not office.

The following morning, I sauntered into No-Star Lanes and had Bud punch out two  Xceptions with 3" pins, one with the pin 4" and the other with the pin 5" from the Pap.  Both were shiny, pearl, and swirly lights and darks.  Both CGs were to be set directly below the pins. While Bud did his job, I ordered two gin gimlets, just to insure my views wouldn't be clouded by unnecessary sobriety.

According to my research this orb was designed to get ignore the heads and midlanes like Paris ignores Nichole and then to stand up and turn like Jeff Gordon on a short track. I tried it on house tapers, a christmas tree, and a couple of conditions so thin or flat they made Laura Flynn Boyle nervous.

1. Length?  A pearl, but a strong pearl reactive.  In box condition it picks up when it first finds substantial dry, like a good martini.  Extra polish and it gets on down the road further than Dorothy in the Wiz.  For a pearl, long enough, but it doesn’t squirt around like a drunken firehouse.  If you’re heading for a desert or an oil well, leave this globe at home.

2. How did it move?  Watching this one move I got a crick in my neck.  It flipped harder than the coin on Superbowl Sunday.  And it goes left so hard Ted Kennedy wonders how something got to his left.  It will rollout on short oil.

3. How much did it move?  On medium light conditions with strong backends, Mayflower doesn’t move as much.  It seemed to want to head harder and longer left with a higher axis rotation angle – cut down on rollout.  It is moderately sensitive – i.e., it’s somewhere between Hawkeye Pierce and Jim Rockford – to carrydown.

4. How did it hit? Once you get lined up, this one is more predictable at finishing off the rack than Steve Mizerak.  Keep the speed consistent and adjusted and pins fly around more than the Blue Angels.  Get Tony Stewart with it and you be seeing the corners of the track over and over.  Don’t get high, you’ll regret it in the morning.  A lot.  If you can adjust and stay lined up, I haven’t seen much better.

5. What kind of control did it give me?  Look, this one needs Mark Martin to keep the speed constant and adjusted.  You just gotta make sure you keep the proper speed around the track.  Get inconsistent and this one gets more nervous than a squirrel at a hound dog convention.  Forgiving as Hannity to the right and as unforgiving as Rush to the left.

6. So, whaddid I tell the Dame? I liked it and preferred the Xception to the Rule.   For the better bowlers, a superior skid-flip ball – maybe the best on the market right now.  But then, I can control myself as a trained detective.  She didn’t have that kind of control.  Thank God.

For long and strong, I goto the X-ception for the first ball out of the bag on soft conditions

Player Profile
Right handed tweener/higher speed stroker
17-17.5mph, 330-340rpms
PAP 5" right, 1/4 up

Center Profile
House #1: Old Wood surface. Medium-Heavy blended house shot. Tapers off to extremely dry gutters. The more games bowled on it, oil dries up, never really carries down.
House #2: HPL Synthetics, Longer pattern with a very heavy concentration of oil in the middle from 12-12. Tapers off to the gutters. Shot forces you to stand right and bank the ball to boards 2-5 early in order to come flush in the pocket.

Ball Specs
3 3/4" pin 1" over the bridge(5 1/2" to PAP for me)
Strong MB placement above & right of the thumb(4" to PAP for me)
Weighthole 1" past the PAP
Sanded down to 320 grit & polished with Brunswick's Rough Buff

Pro's
-Angle and lots of it.  Opening up a house shot is never a problem with this ball.  The application of Brunswick Rough Buff and the added weighthole gives the ball more traction in the midlane while still recovering strong in the backend.  It's much better than the factory polish that leads to over/under.
-Keeps pins low to the deck, finishes great and doesn't keep hooking through the deck
-Awesome reaction when playing the friction of the lane for high speed players

Con's
-Put it away on longer patterns.  Too much built in length here.
-XCeption wants to check up too early on shorter/drier patterns.  Definately condusive to mediums and THS only.

Other Notes
This is one of the favorites in my bag.  When the scoring pace is high and stand left-send it right is making all of the money, the X-Ception keeps me in contention with the big boomers who are exploiting the house patterns.  The Xception is a true definition of Skid/Flip or "Long and Strong" as track calls it and probaly does it better than any other asymmetrical pearl offering on the market right now.  I love my Xception so much after the application of Brunswick's Rough Buff on it.  The read I get out of the midlane is much better than the all-or-nothing motion I got out of the ball with the factory finish.

The low speed/rev guys will love having a ball like this on fresher conditions that can let them play a similar angle to the heavy handed guys.

The average/above average rev/speed group will love being able to play their comfort zone with this ball and getting an extra 2-3 boards right to miss due to the big backend of this ball.

The high rev players will love being able to get further left of all of the hook monster sponge balls that the lower rev rate guys are using and being able to circle the lane.

I have my Xception drilled with the pin below the ring finger. This ball is probablly the most aggressive ball i have drilled up. Ive never owned a track ball before, but i love this ball. I threw my first series with it in my league and stood on 37 and hit the center arrow and rolled it out to about 6 or 7. I shot 257, 253, 282 for a 792 series. I have never thrown a ball that hits like the Xception.

Purchased my Xception from BR used but in good condition.

5" span, pin right of ring, cg kicked.

All I can say is WOW! This ball is awesome! I can play various lines and get the same result....strike!!!! Excellent for med oil, has nice length and a strong arc to the pocket. Can and does hit hard. Great ball from Track.
