arsenal angular and arsenal aggressive question
« on: March 14, 2005, 07:14:00 AM »
Hey fellas if I decided to take the arsenal aggressive instead of the angular and polish it up, would it be stronger all the way around than the angular on the backend.

In my opinion, no. The Aggressive is made to be earlier rolling, while the Angular is supposed to have more backend. While a polished Aggressive will get down the lane better than an out of box Aggressive and have more backend, the Angular out of box will have more length and more backend as well. Just like the original Rule and Xception. Even a polished Rule starts sooner than any Xception I own, and all of my Xceptions have more backend than all of my original Rules.

A polished aggressive will not give you quite the backend that the angular does. I think the comparison that Clint used...the Rule and Xception is an awesome comparison to use as an example.

Hey lilphyzx,

Same thought here bud, the Aggressive isn't designed for that.  Yes, when we polish a ball, it does help the ball skid and store more energy but doesn't really change the entire characteristics of the ball.  It will look longer and should have more backend then another Aggressive (OOB) drilled the same though.

Hey fellas I took the arsenal aggressive and had a chance to throw it a few times. This ball is an absolute tank like the side of the ball says. Ball made a strong move to the pocket. Out hooked my rule although they are drilled differently. The ball hit the pins and I think i saw bandages on them when they came back around and were setup. Hey fellas I had another question though. Which ball should be stronger on medium heavy in there out of box shape. The rule or the aggressive?

lil,

Given the identical layouts and coverstock prep I see the Rule and the Aggressive being VERY close. They will give a slightly different look, but odds are that you would have to play the lanes the same with each.

I also agree with Ex here, they're pretty close but with the Aggressive being particle, I'd have to say against the oil line, the Aggressive is stronger but the Rule can make a harder move off the dry.  Those would be your two different looks...

I appreciate the info. Im going to try the rule polished and see how it works for me. If I dont like the look, im going to take it back to the OOB shape and use it for some juice. Ive been trying to replace the thoughts of the angular in my mind, because I want to buy one so bad.
