What is the best drill pattern for full rollers
« on: October 23, 2006, 11:12:27 AM »
A good friend of mine is looking to drill a smokin inferno w/ 3 1/2"pin.
He has a Big Bang that he had drill aggressive, but he can get alot of back end.
I know that most of the ball mfg's have layouts for full rollers, are those layout the most reaction that one could hope for? Any recommendations?

I drill for a couple guys that still throw full rollers. The most successful for them is Pin at 7:30 position in relation to the CG.

You won't hit any holes with this layout!

pin at 8:00 located 3 3/8 inches from center of span. If drilling a ball that is Asymmetrical....  put the Mass Bias about 1:30.

I have used many full roller drills and my most success came with the ones with pin at 7:30 location. Now you can use 3&3/8 pin to grip center if you have good ball speed. My ball speed is 13.5 to 14.5 and putting the pin 2" to grip center worked better because of my somewhat slower ball speed. But I also have 90 degree axis rotation. I suitcase the release and therefore put a lot of side rotation on the ball.
