Lets say you want to maintain the OOB on a Power Machine, what would you use?

I believe it was said to use Track Magic shine, after cleaning of course.  However, I found Ebonites' particle polish more effective.

When it says polish it is 99% of the time refering to Magic Shine. When it says compound it is normally refering to Clean n Sheen.

Once you have altered the OOB finish on a ball that says "compound" it is very difficult to use comound and get it back to box. For instance, the Power Machine I just used Magic Shine LIGHTLY......and when it needed more shine I used just a touch more Magic Shine. I did not use compound at all.

carl is this also true for the original machine, 1000 compound, just sand it to 1000 then lightly go over it with magic shine? also anyone know the oob of a strike machine?

thanks for the help

Yes Paul, you can do that to the Machine or use our Clean and Sheen and apply some pressure on a spinner.  This also brings the ball back close to OOB.

I never had a Strike Machine (International piece) but I'm thinking it was 1500.

Here's a few tips to keep our pieces as close to original as possible.

Magic Shine is our "polish" finish.

Clean and Sheen is our "compound" finish.

Clean and Smooth is our "smooth" finish which equates to a 1500 grit.

Buck, I've learned from experience that a 2000 abralon on a spinner returns the ball very close to OOB or you can go 4000 by hand (add polish as desired or needed).   Hope this helps some bud...

Rick, how's it going? With the 4000 abralon, how do you use it by hand?

Hey Six! Are you talking about a spinner or by hand? Going by what rick said (PW- 2000 on a spinner, 4000 by hand), should I use just 1000 by hand?

Here is my OOB spinner routine for each that I have, they all seem to be quite close:
Robo (800 sheen) - gray scotchbrite med pressure
Mean (1500 smooth) - Clean n Smooth med pressure
Power (3000 compound) - 3000 TriZact
Equation (3000 polish) - 2000 Abralon + :30 Magic Shine med pressure
Machine (1000 compound) - Clean n Smooth + :30 Clean n Sheen light pressure
