Super symmertical
« on: May 02, 2005, 03:10:53 PM »
Has anyone tried one of these drillings on a GP2 or AA. Sounds like this would be good a good drilling for those big over/unders.

I'm considering trying this but was wondering if anyone here has tried it yet.

if I'm not mistaken.....isn't Super Symmetrical drillings for Mo Pinel's Vangaurd core ?

If not, it's for asymetrical balls, so it'd suit the GP2 .....the AA is symetrical

Jeffrevs is correct. It is an asymmetrical specific layout. I have not tried it yet, but I plan on doing so.

I put an asymmetrical drilling on the Rule after I plugged it.  The ball was very smooth off the break, but was oil sensitive.  I was never really fond of the Rule, so I will try it on another asymmetrical when I get the chance.  Very good drilling though.  Just pick your pin distance from your axis to determine the amount of flare you want, then put the MB on your grip centerline.

Traumatize,

With the super symmetrical layout, do you not also keep the pin on your VAL? I have this info written down at the shop, but cannot remember exactly?

No, I was taught that you choose you pin position by the amount of flare you want, then just place the MB on the centerline.  Heard nothing about the pin being on the VAL...

Super Symmetrical drills place the psa on the grip centerline with the pin generally under the fingers (1 to 1 3/4" above the midline).  You may shift the pin to axis distance to obtain the desired track migration.

Pin to axis? why would I need to know that when I know where my center of gravity is?

AH....I stand corrected, it came to me. I was thinking of the Asymmetrical Flip Drilling---------and the pin is not on the VAL, it is 1 1/2 from VAL.
