HELP ME!
« on: June 24, 2006, 06:51:12 PM »
lol, did i get your attention?

I know this may be a little repetitive, but I have an anouncement to make:

I WON A FREE TRACK BALL.
http://www.trackbowling.com/bdg/daily.cfm

That being said, I want you Fasttrackers to advise me as to what ball to get. Check out my profile for specs.

What do the professional Trackers have to reccomend? SteveAustin, aka MIKE?!

Get me on the right path to success or whatever the heck you say. j/p!

Also, what's the diff. between asym and sym balls?  Which might work best for me?

Hey Mason,

It is all depending on what type of reaction and what kind of condition you face buddy! Here is how I would look at things. If I needed a ball for heavy oil, I would definitely face up to the Robo Rule. This ball is an absolute beast on the slick stuff. If you are needing a ball with a smoothed out reaction and can handle a decent amount of oil, I would go with the Machine. However, if symmetrical stuff works to your game better, than the Artillery would be a good choice. I'll be honest, I didn't like the Artillery as much as I thought I would. The combination of Goo LS wrapped around a symmetric core just didn't work to my game. You also cannot forget about what people on here are trying about benchmark balls and that is the Heat Blast. You have so many choices buddy! Anyways, when ya pick one, post back on here and we'll discuss which way you may want to have it drilled for yourself! God Bless You and have a great week!

Mason,

To suggest a ball without really knowing what you want the ball to do...or what type of reaction you are looking for is very difficult.

What do you think you need in your lineup....what would you like the new ball to do?

The difference between asymmetrical and symmetrical equipment is that asyms have a MB that can help a ball driller fine tune the layout a bit more to help the bowler get his/her desired reaction. I prefer asyms, but both are useful and have their place in a bowler's arsenal.

Let us know what you are looking for out of a new ball and we will give you a suggestion.

It looks like it comes down to the heat blast or the machine. I wanted the exception 5.0 or the RD1, but they aren't available.

I am looking for something that will carry longer in the oil, but still hit hard. I prefer an arc, and these two are described as having strong arcs.

So far i have in the lineup:

The one - for the first game- if i miss right it won't recover. I need something for that first game that will hook more. i usually play 15 @ arrows out to 8 at 45 feet.  (stacked, 4.5 inches Pin to CG, weight hole next to thumb)

BVP Rampage - Early roll, on a straighter line, on fresh/crisp backends. I skids a lot, and rooooolls, but still retains energy. I like to play 12 out to about 6 to 8, at 40 feet, let it skid a bit, then it jumps. (4 inch pin to cg, weight hole next to thumb, CG out to the right for early roll).

Solution pp - don't use too much anymore (i'll carry it with me, but i'll rarely use it). It's better for really dry lanes. Stacked, 2 inch pin.

What should it be guys? Machine or Heat Blast? I love the reviews on the machine, but i loooove the looks of the HB.

HELP ME! lol.

Congrats on winning the ball Mason!

I'd go with a stronger piece then based on you not being able to bring it back from the outside with the One.  The Machine would be good or the Robo even to help you cover a wider variety of conditions.  I always recommend having an arsenal that offers you a fair amount of separation (3-5 boards) between each piece so you don't have to end up carrying 18 balls around.  Hope this helps bud...

mason,

I agree with tenpins. Go with the stronger ball. I have stated many times on here that the Machine gives me a similiar type of reaction that I see bowlers get from the one only it gives more of it in every part of the lane.

i will disagree with respect. If you want somthing that gets down the lane w/an arc i'd like the heat blast. Blast = smooth!

Thanks for all the help everyone.
I read all the reviews for the HB and the Machine, and I've made up my mind:

The Machine it is!!

I'll let you all know how it works out once i throw it for a week or two or three.

Peace!
