Need HELP on drilling.....PLEASE!!
« on: August 05, 2006, 06:18:32 PM »
Currently I'm using "The Machine" for normal house shots and bowl in league only. I'm a stroker/cranker, speed about 14 mph, med-high rev, standing at 25  to 10 down to 35-38 feet.

Machine layout: 4 1/2 x 3 3/4 (mb at 5 o'clock), pin on ring finger, 1 in wide and 2 3/4 in deep balance hole.

Help on: Robo Rule, Mean Machine, Arsenal Artillery, and Desert Heat. All of them have a 3 inch pin.

Plan on drilling:

Robo Rule: 5 x 3 1/2, cg at 5 o'clock of ring
Mean Machine: 4 1/2 x 3 1/2, cg at 5 o'clock of ring
AA: 1 inch above ring finger, cg at 5 o'clock of ring
Desert Heat: 1/2 inch above ring finger, cg 1 1/2 inch from center grip.

Any sugguestion will be nice. I use the machine mainly for med-med light oil.

Snoop,
It's late on Sunday ... give the TRACK gurus a little time to reply; they'll hook you up, no problem !!!

Hey Snoop,

That's not bad but when referring to asymmetrical balls (Robo and Mean) it's not the cg that is important.  We must be careful of where we place the mass bias that becomes the most crucial after the pin placement.  Replace cg with mass bias in your layouts for the Robo/Mean and that should be okay.

Snoop,

As Rick mentioned, on the Robo and Mean Machine the cg location really does not mean much.

Do you plan on drilling the Robo to be your heavy oil ball?  if so, I don't think you will want to place the pin 5 inches from PAP......especially if the Machine is your med-medlight ball.
