Arsenal Reactive vs Delta 1 vs Phenom Unleashed 3.0
« on: January 12, 2006, 10:53:15 PM »
Finally got these 3 punched out last night. All drilled 3 3/8 from PAP, mass bias and cg stacked underneath (basically pin beside ring, mass bias right of thumb). All 3 were left factory surface.

I was bowling on a broken down house shot....5 person ladies league bowled on the lanes before me, and they were very choppy from all of the plastic being used.

Started with my GP2 that I throw all the time to get a feel for the lanes....Outside, the ball burned early...inside, it was still burning but I could get it to the pocket, but could not carry a 10...just hit too flat to do so. Robo was doing the same thing...Animal was my best choice out of the 3 I had drilled from before. (once again, the GP2, Animal, and Robo all drilled identical to the 3 new ones above, except the Robo has a weight hole from the cg being out of line to the right, and I threw some Delayed on the Robo, the other 2 are factory surface.)

So I picked up the 3.0 first. Roll was identical to the original Phenom Unleashed, but with a much more defined move at the back. It was much sharper than the original, and probably had a few feet more length as well. I was able to play exactly where the GP2 inside would leave flat 10s all day long. But as always, with the 3.0 being pearl, it just didn't agree with me too well as my roll makes pearls skid forever in oil and jump as soon as they hit dry.

The Arsenal Reactive was next. I was able to move about 3 boards deeper with the Reactive than the rest of my stuff and carried all day long. Ball had a super roll to it, never overreacted (the way I had the first 3 drilled, they were very touchy) and hit really hard...I was watching the 6 snap the 10 out all day long from deep inside.

The Delta was last. Delta is a few boards stronger yet than the Reactive, but it is all backend compared to the Reactive as the Delta got down the lane better and had a much more defined breakpoint. I was able to carry pretty well with the Delta, but due to the lots of backend on the choppy shot...it had a tendency to be over under a tisker more than I expected, but once again, my release and reactives do that to me for whatever reason, thus why I usually shy away from them.

I will be trying these out again tonight on my Classic League pattern, and maybe even a few shots afterwards as well just to get a better grip on them and see how they will react on a fresher shot.

For a first night, the Arsenal Reactive actually surprised me. I was expecting a strong roll, but WOW....

Clint, as always, a pleasure reading your comparison review. Bravo dude!
From what you are telling us, you can really see the difference between the Particle technology and the Reactives.

The AR and Delta seemed to give you more "Mmmph and backend." Just what you needed. Great job man...
