Arsenal Reactive -- WOW!
« on: September 12, 2005, 03:14:48 PM »
FASTTrackers,

I punched up the Arsenal Reactive tonight. First impressions are really good, I will post a full review once I've put some games on it.

We went with a 4 1/2" Pin below the ring finger layout. No weight hole necessary as we weighed it after drilling and it was legal, much to the surprise of my pro shop guy! Stats include a 3" pin placement and 4 oz. top weight.

The last pin below the ring finger layout I used was on my GP2, but this ball is freakin' sweet. I've put my aggressive up and this bad boy has filled the spot. Below I have done some contrasts, the objective is to help everybody with choosing their equipment or if they just want to know the differences between each of my other bowling balls.

Rule Delta 1 vs. Arsenal Reactive

Much to my surprise this ball hooks even more than my Delta 1. I feel the reason for this is because of the weird pin to cg/mass bias placement that I have on my Delta 1. The Reactive got through the heads great and made a great recovery on the back end. The Delta 1 is still a hook maniac, but I seem to have more trust and confidence in this Reactive so far.

Vs. Original Rule

These two are probably closest to being the most similar; but, that is not the case. The Reactive really comes back hard while the original Rule is very smooth. These two are in my bag, the Reactive for the slick stuff while the Rule is a close back up when the heads start to break down. Great compliments as far as these two go.

Vs. X-Ception

The coverstocks vary a great deal. The X-Ception goes about 10 feet longer before grabbing the back end. X-Ception has a lot more back end due to its polished out of box surface. If it came down to me having only a three ball arsenal, I feel I could get by with the Arsenal Reactive, X-Ception, and Desert Heat. The Reactive turns the corner quicker and is more jumpy than the original X! It has NOT surpassed the X-Ception in my book, until another ball can give me another 300/800 combo like the X-Ception did, the original X will always be my all-time favorite Track ball with the Reactive coming in 2nd!

Vs. Hex-plosion and Desert Heat

Arsenal Reactive is a very strong symmetrical reactive piece, and IS more aggressive than the Hex-plosion in my opinion even though the Hex-plosion has a particle coverstock. This is where the stronger core comes into play making the Reactive a lot more stronger than the Hex-plosion. There is no need for a comparison/contrast as far as the Desert Heat is concerned. The DH is Track's true dry lane ball while as far as hook goes, the Reactive blows it simply out of the sky! Thus, no reason to say much there!

I hope this helps you all and I will be posting once I get a good amount of games on it! Thanks, God Bless You All and thanks for reading!

Hey Michael,

Nice ball indeed!  This is why I've been saying that it's stronger then they say, kind of like the Havoc was.  I'm in trouble, I've shot nothing under 665 in the last 3 outings at 3 different houses with this ball.  I'm scoring higher then I should or deserve to (no practice).....guess that's a good thing.

Bartender,

A friend of mine is getting him a UI, once he gets it drilled up for himself, I'll let him throw my Reactive and see what he thinks.

Mike, that's awesome man. I love the comparisons to other balls. It really gives us a better overall look. Hey Mike, what were the lanes like when you threw the Arsenal Reactive? Did you get to open it up with this ball or play a little straighter?

Thanks!

Ramtart,

I couldn't play straight with this ball. I was having to open up the whole lane where I usually bowl in my home house. Just got done practicing with it over at the place that has been giving me problems with the OB and I shot 257 with it! It's simply amazing. Hopefully, the OB house will be the same and I can finally shoot 600 +! It's just that good of a ball!

Mike, that is just sick. I had the same experience with the Delta in the OOB.  Will bowl in another synthetic house for 1st night of league tonight. Man, I could only imagine what the Reactive could do compared to my Delta. Yikes!

Bartender and other members,

It is my understanding that this ball is supposed to be the answer to the Absolute Inferno.  I have heard that when throwing these side by side that it is hard to really tell the difference.  Although you guys mentioned the UI, I have been told and read that this is the answer to the Absolute, not the Ultimate.  Mr Leong...is there anything you want to add to this?  Also....my teammate and Track Staffer, Dannial Cohen, has used the A.R. on our Wed Nite league and I must say it resembles the Absolute ALOT.

Hey guys,

On the shots I'm at, I see the Reactive stronger compared to the AI.  It doesn't roll as early as an UI (what's underneath this, 220?) but has very good midlane read and definitely has more backend in comparison.  Actually, it's a touch in between the two but that could my O/U shots that we have so much of out here by me.
