What does Track need to do?
« on: February 11, 2006, 01:30:50 AM »
I have seen two guys jump ship.

I have seen myself look at other company's and purchase balls.

I have not been thrilled about the latest releases from Track.

What is the problem?

Track needs to rethink there color schemes on there balls.  The Robo in my opinion is ugly.  The logos on the solutions are just plain to big or should I say long.  Why would you use a yellow color for the letters on a purple ball?

I know a lot of bowlers do care about the apperance of the ball.  I don't care myself to a point.  Who decides on the colors of these balls?  Who decides on the color of the letters or logo's?

I would love to see a solid black ball from Track.  Simple and to the point.  These are just a couple of things that I feel Track needs to work on.

For myself I would like to see some other covers rahter than the goo ls.

What do you guys think Track needs to work on?  Maybe they will read thisand can get some ideas for there next release's.

Lets Del his job and lets remember that he has not been around for awhile.  If we keep posting ideas about color, just maybe we get that one special that nobody can resist.  We have the most dynamic core and the best company in the business behind us, its all good.

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS

Are you kidding, chitown?  You're in here with a hard-on for every new Track release that is even talked about.  Every new Track ball I've drilled has been awesome, and I have an Xception waiting to be drilled, and will have an Arsenal Artillery soon.  Come on, if you can't get excited about a mid-priced ball that has the Xception cover and the Revmaster core, you never were a Track fan to begin with.

Then I guess I was never a track fan.  I don't like the goo ls cover.  I had the xception and the delta and didn't like them.  That's my opinion.  I don't care much for tracks latest releases.

I posted this to give Track some idea's about there future releases.  Plus we all know that they do read this forum.

I don't like the colors of some of there balls.  The Robo is one ugly bowling ball.  I also think it was stupid to put yellow lettering on the purple Solution PP.  White would have looked a lot better.  Little things like that can sell many more balls.  Just like someone once said that if the animal was a different color many more would have been sold.  That ball was flat out awesome.

I have been very happy with the latest Track balls I have owned. I didn't like them from 4-5 years ago but I feel they have made huge strides in improving their balls.

My wife chooses balls by color. She is very picky. Me, I go by numbers, core, coverstock and predicted reaction. (I do try to avid pink and lavender.)

Hey FASTTRACKERS,

I can't say what other feels, but I can state my opinion on this topic as well and here is the bottom line:

I hated the X-Ception 5.0 and the Hex-plosion...but I still remain loyal to Track because since making the switch...300/800/299 Honor Scores shot...the color of a ball doesn't make a difference, the performance is what I care about...if I get a Track ball that doesn't fit to my game, I will sell it to someone who is in the dark about Track, and 9 times out of 10, I have made a believer out of the person I sold it too...I sold my 1st 5.0 to a buddy of mine for $80 and he has had 2 300s with it. I sold the 2nd 5.0 to a youth bowler I know very well, and he absolutely fell in love with its performance. I sold the Hex-Plosion to Bradford (The Original Chewmeister) and he got a better reaction with it. The deal is, certain balls are fit to each and every one of us...the only way we'll know whether we like it or not is if we take the financial risk, that is if we want it bad enough..I have been getting bad vibes with the Heat Blast, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to give up on it just like that...the time comes that I feel it doesn't fit, then I'll sell it to someone who I feel it will fit there game better than mine...thus making another believer for Track. I believe Track is the asymmetrical leader in the bowling industry, and I honestly feel there mid-price plus and mid-price equipment can't be beat! (TRACK, YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT!) I'm a FASTTRACKER til the end! God bless you all and thank you for reading!

I know, I was just pickin'.  After my Mutant and Triple Threat, I felt like Track was a great company, they could do no wrong.  But I just bought a DT Thing Lives and I really like it.  The choice was between that in 15# and a Rule in 14#.  I wanted to move up to 15# and while the Rule was my "next ball" for a long time and it was a steal ($140 out the door), I couldn't do it.

First of Reactive cover Animal core is my dream ball (I have sent a Email to del about that combo and how many people want it) of all time. Second I think mike is right about a ball just not meant for a bowler. Look at the icon from columbia. It came out and there was a mad rush to buy it but how many of them said i love it. Same thing with the normal inferno. Same thing with the normal rule. A ball is either hit or miss. Sometimes it isn't the ball in a whole it is the drilling. Yet sometimes it just don't work. Color of a perfomance ball should never matter. The only ball you can care about looks is your spare ball. That is why they are made in so many types. The reason we have to buy balls so much is because they just die. They are nothing like the era balls we still see people rolling. BLACK DANGER ZONES, BLUE ZONE PROACTIVES, ANY MESSENGER OTHER THEN THE TEC AND TRACTION, AND THE APEX BALLS FROM EBONITE. I feel that these are era balls that you still see people use and score with. Now until a era ball comes out that works for everyone we will continue to buy balls.

You guys have made some great points.  Scoot4132 I have also e-mailed Track about using the animal core in a reactive cover.  I don't think we will see it.  I also feel Track is missing out by not making this ball.  Oh well.

I care about the specs on a ball more than I do the looks.  But if you have two balls that are similar with respect the specs and one looks good and the other looks ugly which will you buy?  Not to mention there are a boat load of bowlers that will not buy an ugly ball.

I will agree with one thing.  The arsenal series angular, aggressive and reactive are just amazing balls.  The peak particle is top notch in my opinion.  I have all 3 of these balls and love throwing each one.

I'm just not excited about the new release of the artillery.  I think it has a lot to do with the goo ls cover.  Who knows though.  Maybe I should buy it and take the chance.  Who knows maybe it will be awesome.  I just had bad luck with the last 2 balls that had the goo ls and am very iffy about this artillery.  However like EX said to me don't knock it until you try it.

Chi, another item we both agree on! Actually, I have been thinking about this alot the past month or so. The recent Track releases have not excited me one bit at all with the exception of the machine, that might be an exception to the rule (no pun intended) LOL! I feel a number of their prior releases have been turds to say the least (Delta 1 and Xception). The only ones I really liked were the Arsenals and the FAZ. I have recently purchased some other brands of balls and becasue of their performance, I have sold almost all of my Track stuff! Are the other balls a better match to me or are they just better performing balls? Who knows? I know they match me better becasue they perform better for me! Maybe Del will get it all straightened out at Track???

Although these "hook-off-your-hand" balls, and "backend like no tomorrow" balls are definitely fun to watch, they aren't exactly what every bowler needs...

I personally think that some of this has to do with what the market wants. I remember a few years back when everyone wanted arcy particle equipment. Then everyone realized that as the lanes dried up, those sorts of balls don't work, so they go to a reactive ball. Now it seems as if everyone is wanting really really strong reactives that give a ton of backend. Smokin inferno, the one, road hawg, action packed...etc. The bad thing about these balls is that they will never handle as much oil as say the rule gp2. They handle med-heavy oil to medium oil. Track currently does not have a ball to compare to these. For example,  a friend on our friday night league has both the xception, the robo rule, and the paradigm. The paradigm has as much length as the xception with more backend, and the robo covers as many boards as the paradigm, but earlier rolling. This is just what the market wants. It will change. Eventually people will realize how lane specific these really snappy balls are, and move on to something else. They also have a lot of asymm balls, and there are a lot of strong feelings about assym balls from folks.
