Title: BR Track Tourney - January
Post by: icetink on January 12, 2005, 10:04:53 AM
It's already February, and there seems to be no more scores coming in from anyone else.  I guess that makes the winner January, pnj1967!  Nice job and great bowling, hope to see more awesome scores come in.  Good luck to every one for February!

I'll be keeping track of scores for now (at least until Andrew comes back).  Please post your scores in this thread or PM me with your weekly scores and averages.  It would be much easier if everyone followed the same format such as:

Week 1 (Sat.8) - Avg *** = ***; Shot *** (***, ***, ***) - *** (balls used)
Week 2 (date) - Avg *** = ***; Shot *** (***, ***, ***) - ***
Week 3 (date) - Avg *** = ***; Shot *** (***, ***, ***) - ***
Week 4 (date) - Avg *** = ***; Shot *** (***, ***, ***) - ***

*nice to see no one's in the negatives yet. Keep up the great bowling everyone!

Used Phenom Unleashed

Week   Ave   Shot 1   2   3   Series  +/-
1    175/525     200 201 157    558   +33
2    175/525     189 236 186    611   +86
3    177/531     197 178 215    590   +59
4    178/534     191 165 203    559   +25
                       Running total  +203

Not a bad month +203 could have been better though if not for 4 splits in my second game week 4 (7-10 *weak hit*, 4-9 *lil heavy and driving HARD*, 8-10 *10 maybe 8 TAP*, 6-7-10 *came in a lil late only 1 I converted*).
I am pleased though considering it is a sport shot that is 44' and in my opinion tougher than the B/Shark pattern (43') I shot on at the Chicago Open.

Hey Guys, I've asked Icetink to take over our POA tourny.  Please submit your scores (if you want to participate) to him directly and update your own post as well, thanks.  Good luck....

Week 1 - Avg 211 = 633; Shoot 768 - Pins Over Avg +135 GP2 - 1/5
Week 2 - Avg 214 = 642; Shoot 623 - Pins Over Avg -19  GP2 - 1/12
Week 3 - Avg 213 = 639; Shoot 573 - Pins Over Avg -66  GP2,Xcept - 1/19
Week 4 - Avg 212 = 636; Shoot 708 - Pins Over Avg +72  GP2 1/26

Running Total +122 (Whoohoo!)

1/5 - GP2, great reaction, THS just carried everything and was able to hook in heavy and fluff it in the dry too.

1/12 - GP2, no more wall..lol.  This place keeps changing, I was high man on the pair 1st game with 225 cause nobody could hook until breakdown but then they went massive O/U.  Operator error after that....I hate O/U

1/19 - GP2,Xception - Started okay but changed incredibly quick and tried to do too much.  Should've just stuck with the GP2 and stroked it...

1/26 - GP2  WOW! First time in over 20 years, 3 games and I didn't have to move one board.  Shot 239,235,and 233.  Never punched in the 10th one game or it would have been 30-70 more...haven't done this since plastic/urethane.

Hey Rev-O, to be fair, you can only use your first 3 games buddy, just like ABC counts.  Plus every game you shoot, can add "too" much to your plus column...  Matter of fact, maybe we should cut you to 2 games...lol

\o/ !  I'm kind of confused as to which scores to use for REV_o.  Just clarifying, this tournament is based on the scores from one league only, right?  And only three games are to be used from that one league, right?  If so, I'll take the first three games from REV_o's 4-game league.

if you aren't gonna bowl at all this season, your scores shouldn't count, cause you don't wanna take a spot from someone in the TOC.

Hey bowler...I mean Cody  Are you withdrawing because you didn't use a Track ball or cause you won't be bowling at the end of the year?  If you followed all the rules, I'll honor your scores this month but if you're still not bowling by the TOC, we should bump up the second place finisher from this month to take your place (like an alternate), sound fair?  I mean, if you followed the rules, I don't see why you shouldn't get the prize for the month.  That's my opinion...

Aristotle, good luck to you my friend.  Send me your particulars, don't know if I'll have time to travel (about 2.5 hrs away) but in case I do, I'll try to come by and see you.

I say his scores for this month should stand just as if he could not bowl for any other reason and had to take a 0 like others have done.  We did not make a rule covering how many weeks an entrant could miss and still be crowned the winner.

As for the TOC, if he still cannot bowl at that time, then the entrant who gets second place this month (assuming bowler257628 wins) would go to the TOC instead.

I was just wondering if anyone had a problem cause I could easily go out and shoot 3 buck20 games and go -...  That's the only problem i see..

If you are not supposed to bowl because of doctor's orders, then that is more than good enough for me!  Don't do something stupid, like trying to bowl...you could injure yourself worse and be out longer.

Take 0 for the week...same as I did when I was out of town on Jan. 3rd...those were the rules that were made when this thing started...

MUCHO thanks to icetink and everybody else who has lent a hand here while I've been "out of commission" due to work.  Everything is starting to even out now and I'll be able to resume responsibilities of the tournament starting in February (that is, if icetink wants to give it up, we can definitely work on it together as well!).  This proves how strong the "Track Nation" is on BR, when one goes down, many others step up to keep this thing going strong! (Man, I love stirring the pot between the Big B/Storm people).  Once again thanks to all who kept this going in my absence, I look forward to it going strong into the ToC!

Those new year's resolutions seem to be working out for many people this month as there are no negative scores yet!  Good luck and good bowling for February!

Wow, great bowling pnj1967!  Great job on taking the lead with your Rule and Xception.  It's the last week of scores so hopefully we'll see others bowl their best for a reward offered by our very own miniEX and an entry into the TOC for possibly an even bigger prize than Rick himself!  Great bowling this month and keep up the awesome bowling next month as well!

icetink, Thanks.

Just can't belive this season as last year I finished with a 187 avg. This year + 190 {193, 198}in both leagues. The one thing I know for sure is, using Track has helped allot.

Also would like to thank EX as he was the first one to get me thinking about using Track. Every one has been helpful on this forum, Thanks !!!!!!

Looks like I'm only going to miss this one month in the tournament. Finally done with my treatments and managed to throw the ball in league last night. Can't say that I was terribly impressed with my performance, but all things considered, I'll take even for 4 games. I have definitely lost some wrist strength through the ordeal and now have gone back to wearing a Mongoose wrist support. I'm going to have to come up with some strengthening exercises for my wrist to get it back into shape before too long.

Still feeling some of the side effects of my treatments, but I suppose that is to be expected. Gonna try to get some more practice in this week and hopefully I can shake off the rust. For everyone that wished me well whether verbally or just in prayers, thank you. While these last 6 months have been the toughest in my life, your prayers have helped me get through what seemed like a death sentence to me at first.
